I'm trying my hand at this... ok, first of all I have now made a logo AVI; it's fairly simple, with no fancy graphics: http://www.mediafire.com/file/2zzm5mvjgml/logo.avi It is based on the following BMP: http://www.mediafire.com/file/2ym2mwjzmwd/logo.bmp and the following blank WAV: http://www.mediafire.com/file/zwwtggrtmay/logo.wav If I'm fortunate, my logo and encode will be accepted and then this run can be more quickly published!
Posting links to your logo & expressing interesting in a thread of a TAS I'm highly interesting is one way of getting it approved. The more effective choice however, is to to PM me, or talk to me on IRC (preferably IRC).[/i][/quote]

He didn't realize it because the site throws an error when you submit. It just happens that it submits before throwing the error. I made the same mistake with transformers. He doesn't need to worry about the other one, I'll delete when I can. And of course we will need to get that bug fixed asap.

I have a couple of promotions to announce: Shinydoofy and mmbossman are now halfadmin While both now have the ability to judge & publish, mmbossman will still be our primary judge, and shinydoofy primarily a publisher. Congrats, and thanks guys for helping out with the site. Much thanks.

So we still have some things to fix, but I am happy to announce the site is up and running and looks like it will fit within the confines of the server. We did however have to upgrade to a more expensive server. Several people have been very generous and amazing with donations, and I want to thank all of them. It means a lot to me that people were willing to help out and make this transition happen. It means a lot to me. I intend to make a page with update information about the costs/donations info. Right now the operating cost is $40 for the server rental. We have received enough donations that I have paid for that server for 12 months plus have some money left over for next year. For TASvideos to continue to survive, it will require continuous donation money to trickle in. But for now, we are running at least :) There are still going to be a lot of little bugs around the site, some I may not know about it. At the risk of PM flooding, I am asking people to report any bugs they may encounter (give it a day or so before posting though, if it is a major one, it is probably being fixed).

In my mind Bisqwit's Helmet avatar will always be tied directly to TASvideos. It has been integrated into the site such as the default pic for publications wtih no screenshot. Now that he is departing should we change this pic (and other places that may have this avatar)? Or do we leave it as kind of a site symbol/emblem/logo? My vote is that it become the official TASvideos logo in honor of Bisqwit and his awesome contributions

Fix your movie to end at the same time as the published movie, PM me a link to that submission file, and I'll update this.

This user submitted this movie and then cancelled his submission willingly. Afterward he was banned by me. For whatever reason, he was still able to uncancel this submission. This should not have been able to happen since he was banned. Therefore I am reverting this back to the cancelled status. I don't want to honor an action taken by a banned user. EDIT: I'm also locking this submission thread. I don't like where this is going.

Wow man, awesome new trick. Makes the movie a lot more entertaining too. A bit of zipping in donkey kong, to go along with game breaking scrolling glitches. Who would have thought such a simple game could have such things?! Easy yes vote.

Are you kidding? He didn't make any attempt at entertainment. He avoided enemies as uninspiringly as possible, he stopped moving whenever he didn't need to move, took the easiest path whenever possible. It was pure speed with no style. (I not saying mine did or anything).

I saw that video well over a year ago and is what inspired me to make this above linked wip. However, it proved to not be practical at all, there isn't a way for it to save time unfortunately.

There are at least a dozen or so people, including me that can easily achieve a faster time than this regularly in real time on a console.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not looking for good emulators or good tasing platforms. Just...emulators. Mainly I was looking at platforms not currently TASable, but I guess it couldn't hurt to also have a category for emulators that also have a rerecording counterpart.

There is a difference between fun to play and fun to TAS.
This is true. This game is very unfun to play. But TASing it was enjoyable most of the time.

The current users page is broken, and the format is horrid anyway. I had actually planned on making a more organized page showing active contributers.

Well, reencoding them would fix the seeding problem. And at this point a lot of the movies that old are still here because they don't have long overdue improvements!

I wouldn't be opposed to having some old avi's updated. I think some published movies are still old enough that they don't even use x264 and have enormous filesizes. However, our encoders have a full time job just encoding current submissions, let alone going back and re-encoding already published movies.

There already is a SM64 thread: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1621 Use that, don't create a new topic. Why did you call it SM63, I too thought it was about the hack (which is why I clicked on this topic)? Locking this topic. Strike two.

I created this topic as a place to announce new TASvideos staff members. As of today we have a new, sp00ky. Congrats and thanks for the hard work you are doing to help maintain the site!

All the more irritating then. There will be an .exe named 9.3 floating around that will not be 9.3

Desmume 9.3 hasn't been released... When it is, it will be immediately announced on the home page: http://desmume.org/ I'm not sure what this guy is selling.

Starts from savestate+reset? O_o I thought you knew that "record from sram for GBx" had been fixed (though experimentally) by svn r85. Oh, we haven't anounced that fixed version released. XD Maybe you can try some hex-work to see if it can be "corrected". EDIT: Oh, well, this movie can be "converted" to the "correct" format, and the reset frame can be removed (thus 1 frame faster). But then it can only be watcheded with SVN r85 or later versions... So, er, I don't know.
Perhaps we should make a new release then. V21.1 or something.

I didn't find this movie interesting. I also would probably prefer only having the Japanese version as the sole any% version. So I vote no. Now I will go publish this...

Well, I know Rondo of Blood loads just fine with the rerecording version. Maybe it is something specific about that game? Also, are you making sure to load the pce bios file when you use the rerecording version?
