This serves as a nice test run at least. I was thinking a run of this game would push closer to 20minutes. Nice to know it can be completed much faster.

Currently there is no memory watch in mednafen. It is on the todo list though (Though there are several things higher in priority, like a GUI for the windows version, supporting all the platforms, etc).

This game seems to run at 30fps AND lag when...anything...happens on the screen. and down to 20 and 15 pretty consistently. Wow.
Of your 8135 frames of movie, 6040 were lag (non-input) frames.
I'd say this game is qualifies as awful. I also didn't particularly enjoy watching TAS. The fact that it felt like it was grinding to a halt most of the time didn't help.

Actually, the loss of time with bouncing on the wall is smaller than the time it would take to position them. And on the first set, the floor hasn't disappeared enough to avoid that from happening anyway.

Btw, getting AVI recording into mednafen-rr is a high priority, and work is being done in an attempt to make this happen.
(There are other options for encoding for publication though, as PCSX also doesn't have avi capturing)

What Xkeeper said. Also, I mentioned this in my release announcement post :P
And again, I apologize for that annoyance. I had to play politics with that decision.

I'd like to add another key point to this. If it were indeed made in the current day, it is likely that it would likely turn out differently as it would make better decisions in order to meet a 100% type goal (as well as make use of some new tricks discovered in the making of this submission).

Can you be more specific? Did you get the emulator I linked in the submission text? Are you running windows or linux? Could you open games? Could you open the movie? Did it crash? etc.

I am proud to announc the release of VBA v21:

All information can be found on the home page.
The most notable things are Lua Scripting and the resolution of the v19.3 vs v20 conflict :)

Ditto. I don't quite understand how it was completed in 1 fight but I find 1 fight insufficient. Also, none of our Street Fighter type games have ever solely aimed for fastest time. I'd like to see one with some kind of playaround aspect. I don't think this should be published.

Hey, I was just going on what people were saying here. I wasn't even sure if that youtube link was this movie.
I can't watch the movie on the emulator since I can't get the emulator to work and I can't get ahold of a copy of this game.
EDIT:
Someone tell me that this .pxm file beats the game, and I'll accept it for publication. However, I will need a name for the category.

Ok, this movie will be accepted. What needs to be discussed more is whether it obsoletes the previous, what the category(s) will be, etc.
Both movies use glitches, so I really don't like the idea of a "less glitchy" category.
This is the decision I am leaning toward right now. The previous movie did not intend to show more aspects of the movie, it attempted to beat the game in the fewest number frames. This movie beats that movie in its own goals.
I think it should obsoslete the previous. A new movie could be made with a better set of criteria for some sort of 100% or "all aspects" goal.
A movie made with these goals in mind is going to fulfill them much better than a movie that tried to be an any% run and is unaware of new techniques/glitches.
Opinions?

So because speedrunners used the last save room as a measuring point, this TAS doesn't beat the game?
We've had this argument before on TASVideos and the consensus is that "because speedrunners do it" isn't always sufficient.
The movie is only 5 minutes anyway, I think you need to complete the game.
