Hi, ctu. The movie requires an older version of VBA (VBA v22). It does not work on VBA v23 or v24. I am not aware of any other settings that may affect playback.
Thanks, I went with a newer version and found the timing went off when switching the storage box on Bill's PC. I'll try that version and finally get to see the rest of the speedrun. Thanks

I tried to play this vbm file wuth two copes of the rom and they both don't work. Can someone help me find the right Rom to use, or adjust the emulator to get the timing right? Also I really wish it was possible to take the same file after playing and put it on a real copy of the game boy as I would do so with my copy of blue

I have had a horrendous time finding a good SMB2 ROM, having no clue where I downloaded the first one. But when I find it, I could have a run somewhat soon as I plan to work very hard. Expect a WIP within a week if the ROM I just downloaded is good.
Was the the US 2 or the jap 2?

Perhaps there might be enough interest for a TASvideos joint production? Ie. Numerous collaborators go to work in making a new SMW hack which is all self played?
I've been thinking about this for a while and I can't seem to get it out of my head. I've thought about it a bit and envision a hack that recreates the whole game of SMW with self-playing levels. Obviously we have to make some concessions for sake of actually having the levels play themselves, but if each level kept to the theme of the original game, it would be an interesting new way to experience SMW. Well, to show you what I've been thinking of, I'll show my WIP of the first level. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z714Ya8mxsw Please post feedback either here or by the video.
Now thats is very good so far. I was thinking about working on my own and If I can ever figure out how to use that prog correctly and set everything up to work. I'll make one myself :P Tho I dough I can make one anywhere close to being as good as you done so far.

Definitely a large technical improvement over the original movie. Two players seem to do the bosses much faster. The previous movie avoided shooting as much as possible which I thought was kind of amusing, but I liked this movie as well.
I was thinking the same thing. I enjoyed watching this movie as well. Tho I would like to see this one published alongside the other one and not replace it, since I think having 2 payers make a big enough difference.

I can see why. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_the_Hedgehog_(16-bit)#Knuckles_in_Sonic_the_Hedgehog (The link, course, would be better if you did not have to copy paste for the 2nd half. Though no idea what I am doing wrong. Ho hum.) I can feel your pain though. You would think if fans could do it Sonic Team could. I wish they were as competent as a true fan too. Anyways the torrent will always work if you can not use google is for some reason not enough to find the ROM. It really is a run good enough to download the AVI for.
I did try the avi from bit torrent, but only video player I got works for this kind of file (just found out) and I think it was causing the audio to dysync (it was the video for sonic 3 speed run from this site :P

I used to think the same about the levels in SMB3, that there was a way to get into the middle "suck in" levels (e.g., not the ones you stop on). I remembered it clearly for some time, and even now I do. But the game itself does not have anything there. It cannot be done; false memory. I suspect the same has happened here.
I really don't want to argue this. I just want to find the patch file to watch the speed run

Sonic 1 + Sonic & Knucles = Sonic 3 Mini-Game Heaven. The only games that the lock-on works with is Sonic 3 and Sonic 2. All other games give a "NO WAY" message, so you're sleep-posting. ^^
but I remember doing it.

[I dunno] It could be a very interesting enterprise to say the least... Mr. Kelly R. Flewin
Sounds fun, I would love to help make it.

I have sent a message to a couple of the authors, but it looks like most of the ones on youtube are stolen from nicovideo.jp and reposted. (The audio desyncs usually stem from this) I suppose if someone who speaks Japanese has a nicovideo account, they could go ask around there and be a bit more likely to get a response from the real author. It's apparently a meme over there so there may be multiple authors. In the meantime, I've been playing around with making my own, I'll share it when I finish the first level.
Nice. I would love to do something like that, but the best I think I can do might just be just one level

i thought it was hard too before i understood that "luck-manipulation" was just a confusing word that usually means using save states until you get a good result.
Really, thats all it is? Darn thats not that hard at all :P guess now all I got to workon is being able to do some of these glitches I seen here and I mioght be able to do something cool

Well that i one reason I love watching videos from here. Everyone cares about the entertainment factor, wile over at SDA if it happens it happens.

(tho I might be wrong about that) Well for some reason when I downloaded the video from Bit torrent it did not work (this is one of only 2 videos that don't work) I am using MPC to play videos and have watched a few from this site already. The prob is that in the video the sound plays ok, but the actual video is nothing more then static.
