Tested Hetfield90's thing with N64. It only starts inconsistently placing states when the frame it is supposed to put a state on is lag. And when it's consecutive lag for a bunch of frames, it removes the state it just created on that lag area when as it advances emulation.
Weatherton's crash stops happening to me when I set Memory Capacity in Savestate History Settings well below 500MB. With the limit of 512MB, it crashes when EmuHawk occupies 800MB+, dunno why it does that.

Fantastic!
It's probably not a game end glitch per se, but an enemy with some boss flags that ends the game after you kill him.

I can. It won't select the main bizhawk window slot 0 though, since it's useless with tastudio launched.

Is it possible to load a branch state without the emulator pausing? I've got "Autopause at end of Move" unchecked but the emulator pauses whenever I load a branch state using either the GUI or a hotkey for "Quick Load."
Fixed, will update later.

Works well for me.

Now that I think about it, you might actually want to hold off until the next version of BizHawk is released. If I remember correctly, there are a lot of updates and changes coming to the Genesis core (something huge is happening with it at least), so it's highly unlikely that any work you do now will continue to sync on the next version. Of course, you could just finish it all on 1.11.6 and be completely fine and not have to worry, but just in case you feel like the run's going to take a while...
The core itself is not getting improved, it just moves to x64 and starts using a different approach in savestates (while core app state gets saved now instead of what its author decided to put to savestates). This improves stability and determinism, so accuracy-wise it's the same thing. And there's no need to wait, because no one knows then the release is out.

This error only happens with n64 for me, and it's VERY inconsistent. If you could figure out the exact repro steps that are absolutely reliable each time, we could fix it.

Also, should I move this to tastudio thread or you wanted it to be posted here specifically?

Why are you calling an interim build a branch? I uploaded my branch just once, then switched back to master.

"Hold on" means that people were supposed to wait for me to finish putting it to youtube.
Uploading the better version anyway.

BG scripts are probably the hardest. Anyway, the most important part would be fastest crash, and then figuring out if it can be turned into a GEG.

FCEUX can handle them if they're input via Lua (and, although quite possibly not perfectly accurate, is accurate enough to emulate the run in question); however, there's no way to specify the input in question in an input file/recording.
Can I have the script?

I suggested the same idea for Gradius btw.

Cleared the Demo flag, since the movie class description refers to TAS concepts/goals other than speed, which this run does not have. If any showcase of a new emulator feature must be credited with this flag, add it to the guideline.

We had severe problems when we tried to adapt the terminology to Russian, starting with my Wikipedia article created back in 2010.
The word movie doesn't translate to Russian well, and it by no means is comprehended as a file. I now have a word that would work way better, it's the word "Replay". That word would be unique and have no mental noise coming from its other meanings. But that is only an issue in Russian. I don't think I know what is problematic about it in English, but I haven't yet read the thread.
