Doing a fast encode.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

I need a clarification about some classes regarding to their vaultability. Hardest difficulty seems to be pretty vaultable, even though it is in most cases a time trade off. Will a run on easier difficulty obsolete the slower one done on hard? Or the opposite? It's all just for Vault yet.

I figured out "hardest difficulty" is okay for Vault and doesn't hinder accepting to there, even if it's slower than "easy". It's just the faster difficulty movie is going to obsolete the slower one, but I'm not sure.

After the Vault was introduced, such a run seems to need rejudging I guess. Many runs were rejected due to being boring formerly, but now there is quite some chance for such.

If it's not a mistake, it's the author's choice. Some TASers like to stop input earlier than intended and let the game finish by itself (it involves deep planning to set this up). [711] NES Gradius by adelikat in 10:52.35 Sometimes it is chosen to stop a movie a bit later, but help the game finish faster this way. #3313: adelikat's NES Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 16:26.23

The TASing itself is rather hard work considering the quality level it is at now. But to edit your movie you don't need to know programming or something. Just use a text editor like Notepad++ and copy/paste your inputs as you wish. However, there are specific tools for movie editing: TAS Movie Editor - external tool supporting many formats, doesn't allow to preview your movie. FCEUX TASEditor - internal tool of FCEUX emulator, you watch your movie and make edits at the same time, seeing the result.

- The TAS Rules need rom (E)/(U)/(J), then how about with (A)/(F)/(Unl)/etc ?
(U) is our default choice, (J) and (E) are rare. (Unl) means it's an unlicensed game, which is still acceptable if there is no release version of it. http://www.pocketheaven.com/ph/wiki/GoodCodes

For make record, it take alot player times, days or months, but finally it got rejected because blah blah blah.... Examples fighting game records, almost TAS have bugs/tricks but not fastest. Hard for understand :(
There are 2 tiers, movies are published to one of them. Vault can accept fastest possible records, boring movies are okay, but only 2 goal options are allowed: fastest completion (any%) and full completion (100%/best ending). Mooons are published to if a movie gets a really good viewer feedback. But the goal choice is up to author, anything people really enjoy can be accepted. http://tasvideos.org/JudgeGuidelines.html#TiersAndGoals

If no improvements are going to be found, I will start doing all encodes for this.

What makes you think that what you see in this thread isn't our opinions on the matter?

I like how Warp didn't say anything about the bot examples he gave/got responded about.

I got zero rerecords with TASing in TASEdit and set the count to 88800 before submitting, so what? Anyone can mess with it to make it look trustable. No stats is 100% accurate, which still doesn't hurt your ability to get a valuable impression of the subject.

How many rerecords a run must have to be considered botted by Warp?

Improvements found by expert TASers aren't a proof of sloppiness... unless they are found everywhere throughout the run!

If it's faster than Randil's movie, sure.
Sorry, my record just target to Highest Score
Only "fastest completion at any cost" and "full competion"/"100%" can be published in Vault (a place where we host movies that the audience didn't like), which means, if a movie has a time trade-off, it must be really liked by the audience. Otherwise, it gets rejected. However, if your find can improve even the current Randil's movie, it's awesome to submit it as a separate goal submissioon (if you finish such a run). And yes, update the youtube encode, we will embed it into your submission.

How about Top Gun (or anything first person) + Gradius + Recca? 3 different directions!
