Since both the site and BizHawk's "Play Movie" window assume ~60 FPS for now and the game runs at ~50.1245 FPS, the actual run time is 21:25.22. Spikestuff's temp encode confirms the time.

Well, I tried watching the movie with the American version, and it desyncs somewhere in Stage 2. By the way, it seems BizHawk has issues emulating the FM sound in this game. I've noticed that the sound effects sometimes don't play at all (or are cut off), which doesn't happen in e.g. Fusion (closed-source emulator) and the Japanese VC release (presumably on console as well). Nor does it happen in Dega (though it has other issues like the music not fading out properly). On another note, the PSG sound in this game is awful (really high-pitched tones in the Stage 1 BGM, for instance).

Is there any reason the Japanese version was used instead of the American one? EDIT: It syncs in BizHawk 1.9.1. By the way, it seems the American version is an "updated" version, as the ending text is still in English (and the run doesn't sync in it). Anyways, from what I've seen, it's pretty well made, but I hardly found it enjoyable. I vote Meh. It's maybe good for Vault.

The record output bug is likely a known issue where the emulator crashes if you don't use the right extension. If you were using the right extension, I'm not sure what the issue was. I'll take a closer look, but what were the codecs you were using, and not just the container?
My first attempt was without advanced settings checked, but seeing it produced an AVI with a gigantic filesize (I think it was 100+ MB for ~2 seconds of footage, mind you) before it crashed makes me believe it was uncompressed video and audio. On my second attempt, I used the FFV1 codec and uncompressed PCM audio (I also used the right extension), but it crashed right away.

Got a chance to test it in my Windows 7 x64 laptop. It runs, but trying to record output crashes the emulator (I was trying to record an AVI). One time QtGui5.dll was the culprit, the other time, ntdll.dll was the culprit (according to Event Viewer). Both were Access Violation crashes (exception code: 0xc0000005). Switching ROMs also causes an Access Violation (and thus, a crash) to occur (it was in ntdll.dll for me). Anyway, I tested with Super Mario Advance 4, and it shows incorrect behaviour. Basically, when you first start it up, it's supposed to format the save data, then jump to the intro (like in VBA-M and on console). However, mGBA first displays "Reading...", then after a while, "Saved data is corrupted." (it also takes longer to get to the intro). This also happens on older versions of VBA, for the record. Here are some comparison screenshots: Other than that, good job so far.

Very well done. Yes vote. A note to other publishers: I already have an AVI dump ready, so I'm going to be the one encoding and publishing it (once it is accepted).

According to the video, xipo's TAS was published by TasVG. However, TasVG no longer seems to exist anymore (I just get a blank page upon accessing it). Thankfully, there's the Wayback Machine, and after some searching, I found the FCM of his TAS. It's right here. (yes, the download surprisingly works, and yes, it syncs in FCEUX 2.2.2 after converting it to FM2). Interestingly, he also posted it on Nicovideo: Link to video Watching it, it seems like there's a zipping glitch that may only be possible with Kaede?

Temp encode is up: Link to video By the way, it should be noted that xipo uses Kaede, not Hayate.

Yeah, you could have easily posted it in this topic. Anyway, uploading the temp encode now.

This TAS is very well made, especially the end. Yes vote. Furthermore, I'll be making a temporary encode. I'll also be making the final encodes once this is accepted.

Yeah, I can confirm there's no static when I use Audio Throttle. The other bug still remains (end of sound that keeps playing), so that's probably a legitimate bug that's in Octoshock, but not Mednafen for some reason.

Symphony of the Night runs, but sometimes, there's the end of a sound that keeps playing (I noticed it while Richter was fighting Dracula and somewhere between obtaining the Cube of Zoe and entering the Alchemy Laboratory), which doesn't seem to happen in Mednafen 0.9.36.5....or at least I can't seem to replicate it there. There was also a bit of static in the intro song (the long unskippable (if you first play through) text one) which doesn't seem to occur in Mednafen either (unless it's because I have BizHawk set to Clock Throttle (default setting)).

Nice glitching there. However, I have a doubt whether this constitutes valid completion. Namely, the game's supposed to go in a post-completion state after you beat the game (which reveals where the treasures are located): (note: the 19 flashes as well, and the locations of the treasures are revealed) However, after playing back this submission, this isn't the case: (the locations of the treasures are not revealed after choosing the file, though admittedly, it's a pretty cosmetic change) Perhaps one could "über-glitch" to Course 40/the final boss, then beat it, which may create the "post-completion" save (which would technically constitute valid completion). I'm abstaining from voting.

It's not a freeware fangame. It is available on several Japanese stores which do not ship overseas. With that said, nice to see you got the world record. I wonder if there's less text on the original Japanese version, though.

To be honest, this is pretty much just like the regular NES Rockman 1, except the sound effects in Rockman Complete Works sound dreadful in comparison (unless it's an emulator issue). Not only that, the constant popping up of the Navi pause menu in several stages is pretty annoying, in my opinion (even if it's for a glitch). Voting no.

I'm just going to warn you right away: Snes9X 1.43 is no longer allowed for movie submissions. Snes9X 1.51 or newer is still allowed, but deprecated.

Is there a file named "movie-1.avi" (and for that matter, "movie-2.avi", "movie-3.avi" and so on) in the same directory as the script? Error code 2 indicates AviSynth couldn't find the file. If there's no such file, could you show us the contents of the directory the script is in?

I opened it up with Media Player and it says there is something wrong with line 1 column 9. Here is my script:
Language: AviSynth
video = AviSource("movie-0.avi", "movie-1.avi", "movie-2.avi", "movie-3.avi", "movie-4.avi", "movie-5.avi", "movie-6.avi",  "movie-7.avi", "movie-8.avi", "movie-9.avi", "movie-10.avi", "movie-11.avi" "movie-12.avi" "movie-13.avi" )
audio = WAVSource("movie.wav")
audiofix = GetChannel(audio, 2, 1) # maybe not needed, check audio first
AudioDub(video, audiofix)
You forgot a comma between "movie-11.avi" and "movie-12.avi" and between "movie-12.avi" and "movie-13.avi".

Well, [...] means I truncated that part, so you still have to type "movie-3.avi", "movie-4.avi", "movie-5.avi" and so on. The script should look like this:
Language: avisynth

video = AviSource("movie-0.avi", "movie-1.avi", "movie-2.avi", "movie-3.avi", "movie-4.avi", "movie-5.avi", "movie-6.avi", [...] "movie-11.avi") audio = WAVSource("movie.wav") audiofix = GetChannel(audio, 2, 1) # maybe not needed, check audio first AudioDub(video, audiofix)

Simply do the following:
Language: AviSynth

video = AviSource("movie-0.avi", "movie-1.avi", "movie-2.avi" [...] "movie-11.avi")
