Ikr? That's why we have PS2 TAS's published already! ;) Ok, that joke sucks. I'm so sorry!

Edit: Ok, I've tested it and it doesn't work. I did manage to drag whatever characters I've encountered that couldn't otherwise be seen again into File 1, so I guess I would have to do the second choice. I did notice that on a new game, pausing takes 5 lag frames, and on a new game+, it takes 6. Maybe if I can find the point where it'll take 6 lag frames to pause, then I can use File 1 to help me.
I found out that the save glitch works best when either the save glitch is used on the same file or when used with a file with less progress is used to overwrite a file with more progress. I guess the best way to do this is to start a new file on 1, save glitch it to copy to 2, then use file 2 to glitch file 1. I managed to beat skip the 2nd stage boss like this. This needs further testing. Edit: Skipped all the way to the boss of the 3rd stage. Now on the ice stage, which is giving me trouble. That's because for some reason, the ice stage is very difficult to glitch; the most I could do is make doors appear that lead to (slightly) further into the stage. This does seem to make an interesting "all worlds" run though. :P

Maybe I'm missing something, but what are these "teams" like T1, T2, ..., T5? Was this submission the result of a contest I didn't know about? Regardless, I look forward to seeing this when I have my emulators. I haven't had time to follow up with as many runs lately, but then these past two weeks have seen a lot of nifty runs in the submission queue :-)
I assume it's from something called "Dream Team Contest" mentioned here.

Edit: to clarify, I'd bet my wallet that the next SM64 any% submission will be a single-digit frame improvement, while the next OoT run will probably be at LEAST two digits (likely three).
Sorry for replying such an old comment, but: At the time of that quote, the OoT movie was 56:54.2. The next one was 22:50.27. So it's more like by half an hour. lol

I just checked Gamefaqs. A 100% run will be: *Complete Group Photo (Need 9999 Pearls) *Complete Photo book (Kill/Encouter 202 Characters) *Find All Treasures (6 per stage) *All Minigame unlocked (Easy enough) *All movies unlocked. (Requirements are in Gamefaqs.) Notes: *You unlock all the stages with the Demo glitch, but the bosses aren't in the picture book. Which means I need to beat all 9 levels 7 times! *I need to kill/bump into every character in the game at least once, including the ones that appear in the secret rooms. * I should beat the level 9 last so that I can unlock all movies or something. *9999 pearls.....I think I need to take note of the amont of pearls that appear in every stage. This will be harder than I thought.
Ok, an update. These are the things I've tried to make this goal easier: -Do demo glitch, start a new game in file 2, and use save glitch to smuggle spin move without overriding the save (Fail) -Do demo glitch, start a new game in file 2, and use save glitch to unlock photo book characters I've missed with the demo glitch (too long) -Don't do the demo glitch (way too long) -Don't do the save glitch (even longer) -Glitchless (Hope you guys enjoy those auto-scrollers that contribute to 0% of the goal) So I'm going to try to do the demo glitch, start a new game in file 2, and use save glitch in File 1 to skip stuff in File 2. I hope this works. Edit: Ok, I've tested it and it doesn't work. I did manage to drag whatever characters I've encountered that couldn't otherwise be seen again into File 1, so I guess I would have to do the second choice. Btw, here's a list of characters that are missed in the demo: Stage 1 - 9 characters 1, 2, 3 Stage 2 - 21 Characters 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 Stage 3 - 20 Characters 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50 Stage 4 - 26 Characters 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76 Stage 5 - 29 Characters 96, 97, 98, 99, 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105 Stage 6 - 22 Characters 123, 124, 125, 126, 127 Stage 7 - 28 Characters 148, 149, 150, 151, 152, 153, 154, 155 Stage 8 - 24 Characters 175, 176, 177, 178, 179 Stage 9 - 23 Characters 200, 201, 202

Forgoes warps/time-saving glitches, huh? Hm....I'll be waiting for a glitch %100 run. :D But for now, I'll wait until I'm back home to watch this.

New WIP. The only thing that is questionable is that missed shot in the gallery. This is intentional, cause waiting for the Red Zealot to stand up partially causes a different death animation that is shorter.

Huh. This was actually quite entertaining, especially with the fuel part. You said the game has an ending at 1,000,000 points, right? Maybe you should do that and submit it on June 20th April 1st or something. :P

Nice! It would be great if you can extend the ability to edit/add addresses to players as well, kinda like the Game Resource page atm.

Sorry for the late reply, but I'll do it right now. :P Edit: Added stuff posted here + youtube. I think I missed some tricks, and some of the tricks I'm not sure where it would save time, so information about them would be nice.

Why not do all 4 cups/24 tracks? That was my original intention. However, as the authors of prior efforts (going back to 2007) discovered, each track takes a huge amount of effort (a low of about 20 hours TAS'ing for Devils Forest to way over 50 for Sand Ocean and Mute City). Apart from likely never getting a 24-tracks run in the first place, the task to obsolete such a run would be similarly massive and unlikely to happen
I would've agreed with Comicalflop's comparison with the 100% SM64 run if not for the fact that having played Kirby Air Ride, it is indeed highly unlikely not only to have such a run finished the first place, but also less likely to have an improvement finished. Anyway, this run was....well, I'm not sure how I can describe it without saying what everyone here already said, so I'll just vote yes. :P

LOL! I tried using that argument too! Too bad it doesn't work all the time. :P And no, I'm not trying to unreject my run or anything, just pointing it out.

If an emulator uses inferior emulation methods it may still emulate a handful of games quite perfectly because it happens to emulate the components a specific game needs quite accurately. Even a broken clock is right twice a day you know.
The first thing that comes in mind is how the SM64 runs are console verified despite Mupen emulating alot of game inaccurately.

Since I'm running JAP version of RE4, does it matter that I got it from a NTSC wii/gc?
Maybe it's because of the english voice acting, or the character name's being in english, or I don't know, but for some reason, every time I look at your WIPs, I keep forgetting that you are using the (J) version. lol

jlun2, I see you post a lot of things that are really uncalled for. I hate to break it to you, but you are among the reasons why I'm not submitting. I want to get a J cart so I can see what a console run would be like. I cannot judge what it is like before I do that.
I have a lot of things I'd like to say about your first comment, but I believe it doesn't belong to this thread. :P For your second comment, all I can say is that, I wish you luck on doing a frame-precise trick in real time. :)

Uh...I don't have twitter, and I can't be bothered to make one for just 1 post, so uh... You do know that the run doesn't have to be a New Game run, right? As long as the New Game+ run has a verification movie, you can do it. For example, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night obsoleted a run that didn't utilize "New Game+" to skip cutscenes. I know CoolKirby mentioned it before here, but according to the twitter date, you seem to be unaware you can do this. :P

LOL @Swordless:
Maybe one day SRL can have a section for unassisted runs AND TASes and we can all move away from these awful other sites lol
I totally support this so he can "bitch about the site rules and exceptions thereof, weekly drama" on SRL instead! ;) But anyway, shame that the run won't be submitted here, but whatever. You mentioned you need to get a (J) cart. Is this glitch even reliable in a real-time speedrun?

Just to make sure people stop submitting Snes9x runs, how about making the .SMV file format unsupported for the site?
