You beat a TAS record without Frame Advance? You seem good at this game. Do you have this game for real? Maybe you could try recording it, and submitting to SDA (Assuming you have a Gameboy player, as I don't think SDA accepts emulator runs). ;)

The run doesn't seem like it is frame precise. =/ Speaking of which, did you use Frame Advance for the entire run, or for only parts of the run?

=D But why is it only 3 minutes long? Oh well. Edit: I know it's the last 3 minutes of the run, but at least it's confirmed. Have you tried MM yet?

Tool-Assisted Movie in real time run
What does this even supposed to mean? A TAS can't be done in real time. Like what NitroGenesis said, use frame advance.

108 frames saved. I tried several different ways to go up/down the ladders, and this seems to be the fastest. WIP

The questions and answers are readable atm. I found it funny. Try to do all three matches! ^^

Im not sure if you know this already, but during the first time the Shadow Queen becomes invincible, you have to attack her at least once, right? Well, you can save a turn if the audience, or a stage prop manages to attack her. It'll do no damage, but at least it counts as an attempt to attack her.

Why did you chose a "no damage" run again? Since this is slower, wouldn't someone simply do a "damage" run, and obsolete your run?

Make sure you're using the v1.0 ROM on DeSmuME 0.9.7 with Advanced Bus-Level Timing OFF. We had Advanced Bus-Level Timing ON for our previous TAS but setting it OFF causes less lag.
The lag frames shouldn't be taken as an "improvement", otherwise, anyone could've obesoleted your previous run just by turning Advanced Bus-Level Timing OFF. =P

2. "the user base dislikes Metal Slug runs with deaths" - How could published Metal Slug runs with death-abuses hurt the user base of this site? I cannot honestly conclude such a consequence from your reasonings. Hence I disagree.
I thought the people here in general hated metal slug runs with deaths.

Why? =/ Quote from here:
Our runs are held to high standards, and only high quality runs will be published on the site.
So...yea, I'm going to vote no.

Sonikku my re-records is very low because i use slowdowns. And yeah with 2 players is a very nice and save much frames.
Does that mean you played it at ~3 FPS, or did you used frame advance? Because even with the game slowed to 1 FPS, it's still really difficult to achieve perfection. =/

As promised, here's a continuation of the previous WIP. The main improvements from the rejected run include: * Different Egg order * Doesn't Auto-fire during the canoeing stage * Takes advantage of the fact that the boss takes only 31 HITS to kill; type of bullet doesn't matter * Takes advantage of the bullet spawn during boss. So far, 1316 frames(00:21.93s) ahead.

Been awhile since your last update. How has this been going sir?
It's very annoying TASing this game. Sometimes, an "improvement" somehow causes a room several minutes later to lag ~13 more frames more/less. This sometimes affects the position of enemies. While most enemies don't bother me much, certain enemies like the clowns have to be very precise, or it'll desync. Edit: I'll make a list of places that require luck.

Here's how to edit the run: 1. Drag the movie to the emulator while "All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros. " is running. 2. A fcm2 file or something like that will appear in the folder that contains either movies, or the fcm file. 3. Open up notepad. 4. Drag the fcm2 file to notepad. 5. Edit your run. Remeber to save!

Yeah, that WIP hints at frame perfection (& great rerecord count comparing to this submission), but it isn't finished. While here we actually have the fastest game completion so far.
Uh...did you even watch my WIP? While I'm only 55 frames faster by the end of the first section, I'm 405 frames ahead by the end of stage 1. =/

Despite this low rerecord counter the run looks cool.
You just gave me an idea. Edit: I found it! A lost WIP from my old computer. It is faster than this movie by 55 frames by the time I enter the first room. WIP Sorry! No vote.

Aren't you supposed to use the default difficulty for a TAS? Of course there's still several game modes to pick from. I would love to see this, but I'm having some difficulty envisioning a goal for this endless game.
I'm TASing the 5 minute challenge.

Very nice. If I could vote, I'd vote yes. :) Would someone please explain why Mario sometimes touches the flagpole at more than the minimum height? Wouldn't this cost time to wait for him to slide down?
It shouldn't matter, due to the flag has to go down anyway. I think.
