I trusted your math and fixed it. Thanks for catching that.

This run will be judged on this run's merits, not the merits of another run (for another system) which has yet to be made. If and/or when an SMS version of the same game is submitted, we can discuss whether this run deserves to be obsoleted. As mklip2001 said, a better question is whether this run is of the appropriate quality to be published. Several points have been brought up, the validity of which I would like to hear from the author.

And if we want to get technical about it, you actually underflowed the horizontal position at the start of Lava Reef 2. Whoops!
Hehe, so someone *did* notice it :-)
Just going off of what was said here. If this does prove to be true, the best solution I can think of is to hex in a version of the act in question without the underflow present. That way the goals will remain intact, and this run will have a much greater chance of being published.

Given the fact that you set an ambiguous goal, and then break that goal at least once, what is your proposed resolution to avoid further complaints regarding poor goal choice?

I'll go ahead and change it for you on the submission, that's an easier step than changing your forum name. Oh, congrats on your first submission, and welcome :)

Is there a reason you submitted this run under the name enliten, but are posting under the name reiki? We try to keep them the same, for continuity, unless there's a good reason not to.

Interesting premise for a fighting game, but unfortunately it was only entertaining for the first two or three fights. Voting no.

I'm unsure if this was a troll, or if it was just a poorly explained attempt at a pacifist run. If it's the latter, I haven't received a PM from the author complaining, so he must not care too much. As for the troll (singular), I'll give you 9 Knock Out clues!

Wow, 1 reply in the past 5 weeks? Guess I'll make it 2, to dry and drum up some conversation. I think this makes a fairly decent platformer. The first level had me worried, and the swimming segment was pretty dull, but the rest has the makings of a pretty solid game to TAS. However, I don't think that there is a good level of precision shown with a lot of the maneuvers and movements throughout the movie. As mklip2001 said, the staircases seemed to be particularly bad, losing velocity and looking pretty sloppy in general. There were also some spots which I though you could easily have saved time with shortcuts and overall better planning with changing direction. I'm nearly positive that you didn't use memory watch for the character's speed, which would be the first step towards making a publishable sequel to this run. I vote no because of the level of precision shown, but I think this could be a decently entertaining game if the run is cleaned up some.

Technically any half-admin, but since we don't have any actual "judges" at the moment, it's just semantics.

Using an emulator for a TAS because of a beneficial and known bug wouldn't fly here. We try to use emulation that best replicates the actual console; using a bug like that is really no different than intentionally coding a faulty emulator to allow for all sorts of cheats.

To me it's more difficult on mode "B" since you can hurt yourself.
If you mean that 1p can hit 2p, I wouldn't really consider that a harder game mode, since it would be trivially easy to avoid injuring your teammate in a TAS. However, it could have been used to increase the entertainment value; a la DD 2.

For some reason, this movie desynced for me on the second stage when I played it back with SNES9x 1.43 version 15.3.
This happened to me too, with both 1.43 v12 and v13. If you can post a link to the emulator you used, I'd be more than happy to get to judging this, it looks like a great improvement. EDIT: Got a PM with some handy info, will judge this within the next day or two.

Around frame 90000 I think you could have slightly saved some time by killing the two remaining bees (worth 50 coins) as opposed to some of the other insects worth 20. But that's pretty minor. All in all, it's a movie that would have been much better had an English counterpart been available (at least for those of us that speak English). Because of this, the length seems a bit excessive, but other viewers seem to find it entertaining, and I managed to find it quirky and mildly fun to watch.

I actually had the same thought about a year ago, but quickly abandoned it since I'm not a masochist.

Watched via the encode alden so graciously provided, and I'll give this a solid meh, leaning slightly towards no. It's very repetitious and lacks any semblance of depth. On the plus side, it's pretty short, but still... it's like a worse version of Golden Axe, minus a dimension, and without busty women and midgets. I wouldn't raise a stink if this were accepted, but I wouldn't cry if it were rejected either.

Ventuz, are you still working on this? I've been kicking around ideas for a SGB run, and this looks promising. I won't work on it if you still have a vested interest in it, though.

This was the old game list, with several suggestions: http://tasvideos.org/ListOfIdeas.html Whether they are good games for beginners is questionable (ie Sonic 3D), and that listis probably in need of a good spring cleaning, but it's a start EDIT: Like usual, it looks like aqfaq and klmz has done an excellent job of keeping things current, thanks guys!

Sorry bossman, i cant let you go with that, your saying you couldnt see that movie because you dont have internet since a week, this sat in the bench since more than 50 days now
Yeah, I haven't watched it because Ive been really busy lately, and up until recently the only emulator that would play this only had a command line option, which I wasn't about to fuck around with. Don't try to make my inability to watch this movie a strawman argument to take away focus from the fact that your argument still sucks.

theres TONNES of worst NES games here on tasvideos.org, so first of all the shityness of the game shall not been taken into consideration, and again, to me it looked like good tas, definitly not doable by human at least
You really should stop using this argument every time you think a borderline movie is barely worthwhile of publication. Not only is it horrible logic, it effectively is saying "well, we already have some shit, we should add some more shit", which hurts the site more than it helps. I'm definitely not saying this submission is shit, since I haven't been able to watch it since my Internet has been out for a week and the change over to a new ISP won't happen until Wednesday. YouTube works on my phone, though... Hint hint ;)
