List Of Ideas
If you want to attempt a tool-assisted speedrun but aren't sure which game to choose, here are some suggestions. Each tab also has links to wishlists on the forum, in which you can find more ideas or post your suggestions.
Any non-lurker user or published author can edit this page. Feel free to add in suggestions.
Note: If a game title is written in
italics, a movie on it is known to be worked on.
Moreover, if a game has a link, then there is currently a submission of it.
Other ideas
- Other games that:
- are emulated well;
- are action filled and entertaining to watch;
- are not too long (preferably under 40-50 minutes).
- don't have serious issues with lag or other similar problems;
See also the
movies published in 2004 and
2005. These movies did not have the tools that are around today, so you can try to obsolete them.
There's also
another list of ideas for all of the speedruns hosted at
Speed Demos Archive of games that have not been TASed yet. Visit it for more information.
Note
This list does not cover everything
If you want to see a movie of a game not on this list, start making it yourself! Just requesting it to this list doesn't make it happen.
Being on this list does not necessarily mean a game will produce an entertaining movie
Ideas are usually added on the basis of the game, but it's impossible to know definitively which games are entertaining and which ones aren't before seeing a movie of them.
Be sure to exchange information before and while playing
Before you begin playing, be sure you have read the
guidelines for this video collection.
It is also a good idea to announce your plans at the
TASvideos forum (but please don't post movie requests there), and it is strongly suggested that you use the forums to post progress and get feedback from the community.
If you are looking for a video not on this page and not in the above list, be sure to check the sites listed in the
links section.
