This submission was canceled, not rejected. I'm not going to start going against the wishes of any author by un-canceling their submission; they are more than able to do it themselves if they so desire.

I know. I wish it was still published, is what I'm saying (I rarely watch encodes when an input file is handy anyway). Also, my name doesn't have any capital letters.

The 14% movie was obsoleted because it was old and very unoptimized by todays standards. After the 6% run was published, the category became obsolete, similar to the 16 star Super Mario 64 run. And that's all I'll say about that.
I personally would love to see a "non-glitched" sonic 3 run.
I personaly would not like to see another 4 hour, non-glitched Crono Trigger run.
A run I wish was still around is JXQs Super Metroid 100%. The input animation made it far more entertaining than any other SM run before or since.

HappyLee, I just wanted to compliment you on your English skills! I can tell you've been working hard at learning, and I've noticed a very impressive change since your first movie :)

The advent of televised poker has only reinforced the perception that most of the decision making process that goes into a play is based on tells, when in reality, much more is based on math, probability, and betting patterns. One only has to look at the success that has been had by many of the online players in live games to show that the idea of a tell will make up 10% or less of the final decision to call, fold, or raise.

O_o I believe you did this to the level 2 boss in your run.
Like I posted in the SML thread, I believe that the autoscrollers could have been done with a little more variety and interesting activity, but overall it's a very impressive run, particularly after trying to work through the randomness that the second level bonus gave me. It seems that 6 frames you saved on the seahorse helped you out more than you know! I'll throw a yes into the mix.
Now I have to find another GBx game to run

The more I've thought about it, the more I realize that this is probably the best solution. If there comes a time when everyone and their brother is submitting hacks, we will probably have to institute a policy of some kind, but as it sits right now, they should just be evaluated on their own merits. And sometime soon I'll get around to watching this :)

Perhaps a site rule of only allowing 2-3 hacks per (original) game to be published? New hack submissions would have to make a case for why their hack is better than the already published movies.

This submission has not yet been posted in the workbench, and does not have a link to "Discuss this submission". I'm guessing it's for the same reasons as whatever is causing the above.

How does this equal "vocally reject the idea outright, sight unseen"?
Also, addressed to everyone who want to add a 'new category' to the site... how about we wait until some are submitted? Nothing looks worse than having a category with nothing to go in it.

These people were motivated enough.
Yes, none of them were walk-throughs. The common denominator is that they are entertaining (well, most of them anyway). If someone can make an extremely entertaining walkthough of a game, they should have no qualms about submitting it.
The reason that there aren't more is that it's simply harder to make a really entertaining movie. But at the same time, this does not mean we should lower our standards.

Movie finished fine for me. I do wish you'd had some more varied activities on the autoscrollers, particularly with the large set of blocks at the end of level 2. Mayb taking a little more time with those and hex them in? Then I'd say this would be an excellent replacement to the oldest GBX publication :)

I cannot read your message, please use an available translator to convert your message to English; this is an English only board.
Also, how is this movie different from this movie?

4. Assume there was a tournament with 10.000 players. How long would that be? I'm having a hard time myself to estimate it. Just comparing myself with poker nights with friends where a full game can take everything between 30 minutes to 3 hours. I know it's unpossible to say, but out of curiosity I'd like to know what people estimate that time to.
The number of players is not so much the deciding factor, as is the structure of the tournament. Longer times between blind levels will increase the total time invested dramatically. A high initial stack to starting blind ratio will also create a larger time investment. Specials like add-ons or rebuys will add a moderate amount of time to an average tourney, but it has the added bonus of sweetening the final payouts. So, without knowing anything besides 10k players, I'd say Fabian isn't too far off, but there are large outliers.

Ah, ok. Point taken. In that case, something like .profile [user] with a link to the appropriate profile would be handy.
As for my previously mentioned A/V functions, I didn't have any specific ideas in mind, other than remembering some .cl options for [length of movie] * [bitrate]= [size of file], etc.

Who said I'm going to allow you to talk to the bot directly in the channel?
If this is the case, what's the point of having another bot? It's still possible to message Bisqbot with all the previous commands... maybe I'm missing the point.

And getting back to the original content, I still think that having a variety of classic videogame characters wearing the helmet would be cool, but they would have to look professional and non-corny, which may be too much to ask for. In that case, keeping it as-is works for me too.

Dude, no. It should happen here.

Maybe you and alden could look into that.
Dude, no. It should happen here.
My main complaint with these arguments is that 1) it has been brought up countless times before, without resolution, and 2) the main proponents of the argument have shown no desire to actually do anything to further their cause except post about how things "should" be. If/when someone submits a walkthrough, we can talk about it then, when we have a concrete example to refer to, instead of bullshit hypotheticals.
