I wouldn't have guessed that was a one frame window. Makes sense though since I very rarely get it to happen. It's not me in the clip of stage 2, but you can tell he hit A to respawn. Normally you stay dead there to reduce lag but I believe he hit accidentally came back early.

Hey all. I have some possible improvements in case anyone wants to implement/look into them. I posted this into the game's topic but wanted to increase visibility so I'm posting it here as well. The cutscene that plays between the Sewer and Technodrome can be skipped. I've done this a few times but am unsure how it works. I'm usually mashing all four buttons. It saves around 1 second. It can be seen in this video (18 minute mark if the timestamp doesn't work): https://youtu.be/GjABxBK4bAM?t=1082 --- I discovered an additional glitch that can be performed on the Bridge. If you gameover with Don using a special into a pit his special's hitbox will linger on the screen. I made a quick video showing it (in what I think is roughly the best place to set it up): https://youtu.be/8A65WuiKH6c Using this set up lead to this super fast Bebop kill: https://youtu.be/GTLqrPNR2oI You can also use it to obliterate Slash in a second: https://youtu.be/5pp0HePxLNM You can set this up at the beginning of New York but it didn't seem useful (and doesn't carry into the Subway section). It doesn't work on the Elevator. This only works with Don. It will still activate if you don't gameover but obviously isn't as useful since you'll spawn back in a few seconds and the hitbox disappears. --- The most substantial thing is the potential wrong warp: https://clips.twitch.tv/OpenAdventurousPizzaAMPEnergy I haven't been able to replicate this but I'm not particularly knowledgeable about how to look into it on a deeper level (I only tried with savestates). As far as I know I'm the only person who has tried to replicate it, and this is the only known instance of it happening. This would save around 30 seconds if it could be reproduced.
