Unfortunately, no. Taking damage is a major timeloss, because double jump (which I got from the farie that comes from the tutorial eggplant) is lost when you take damage (Royalty Skip doesn't count as taking damage because the game is in a state where you don't die from having zero health). Double jump is very useful with wall climbing (basically doubling the speed by letting you stay out of the wall for twice as long, where you can ascend much faster) as well as other tight dodging maneuvers. In order for any trick that requires taking damage to save time, it would have to save the time of grabbing a new doublejump in the next level, and the time lost to not having it in the current level. Also it just, lets you go up faster while swimming too.

upload Once I've finished the boss, I'll upload a video of the whole world. Saved about 00:20.52 off my published TAS in this level, 06:49.64 overall. (Numbers are approximate, as I don't start and end on the same frame in the end level animation each time)

Same stuff as last upload applies, but one more note. I ended on a multiple of a hundred frames these last two uploads, since the fadeout after a level is so long, I'm going to be waiting anyway/. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/50600654429777926

In the rise of accessibility awareness, can we switch away from a captcha system that requires one to distinguish between red and green to something more colorblind friendly? Thank you.
While I personally as a colorblind person don't have an issue with it, it can definitely cause problems for others who's colorblindness works differently

So... It's been quite some time. Good news: I'm working on this game again Bad News: I'm going off to college, and my desktop (with the XP VM) isn't coming with me. This means that after August 18th, I won't be able to work on it till winter break, most likely. Because of this, I might change to working on Bejeweld 3 again, this time with a less ambiguous and arbitrary goal. As for Iji, that's pushed even further back. Thanks to everyone who's been here for me, I'll try to stop neglecting this

That is the clearest bit of Vault material I've seen in quite some time. Seems very technically impressive though

Well, given that FMVs are going to have copyright claims and that they're not where the gameplay is ... I would, in that situation make it myself and note that the FMV is messed up

Removing "http://" from the url code seems to mess with the url destination: With http - leads to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbVB7n70EUw&feature=youtu.be Without http - leads to http://tasvideos.org/forum/youtu.be/sbVB7n70EUw Even though the url tag never indicated it would treat it as a forum url.
That's how URLs work internally in HTML

Looks good, and I like the new skip! Was the score countdown skip (after taking out the king) not possible on the first level of World 2?
Yes. Well, it is possible, but you would have finished the level with a score of 0. And the game thinks that you haven't completed a level if your high score is 0. Normally I would go get some coin, so I could use king skip, but it would be too slow in that level to be worth it.

You probably want to post a WIP or something every now and then to see if others can also sync back before its too late.
I have been sending a .dtm to someone I know every step of the way and waiting for them to respond back that it syncs before I continued on any further. Here's the latest (20th) WIP .dtm: http://www.mediafire.com/download/t5e23mlyeye7eyy/New+TAS+%2820%29.dtm This .dtm is near the middle of Bad Diplomacy, level 4.
Do you know about the in TASvideos movie storage?

This is an interesting idea, but why go through the trouble? The end result will look very much like what I have already created. The in-game time to beat for the original game is now 18:09. A romhack could have any level design with an arbritary in-game completion time. I wouldn't create this TAS again with a romhack just to satisfy the bureaucratic rules of this site which have nothing to do with my chosen goal.
You go through the trouble, because according to the rules, that's what you have to do.

Although I enjoyed the realtime TAS you guys made, this was what I had always hoped to see for this game. Really glad you decided to complete this project as well diggidoyo! The excess pausing was a bit unpleasant during boss fights, but other than that this was fantastic and often hilarious. Mega Man 9 has an unusual amount of useful, unique weapons, and this TAS shows this off wonderfully. Truly a delight to see Tornado Blow used so liberally, to say nothing of the overload of Concrete zipping. The amount of weapon drops manipulated was rather amusing as well. A couple questions: there was one pause menu (can't remember which level) where you moved the cursor rather slowly, why was that? And, what exactly happened at the start of the Twin Devil fight? Looked like a weird glitch to do with the weapon switching code. It's a shame this apparently can't be published. I think TAS's like these should be examined on a case-by-case basis to determine if the code used adds enough value to the gameplay as well as doesn't subvert or render too arbitrary the spirit of the game. I understand setting precedents is a big deal for this site but I think the fact that this TAS is more entertaining than the normal one and that the hack doesn't fundamentally change the game (indeed, it makes the TAS a spiritual parallel to the PSX RM2 and MM10 ones) should make this worth considering for publication.
