Maybe an improved wallclip you used caused you to skip a trigger that would normally tell the game to save? Does this happen on other levels?
I only have played that level. The only things I can think of are as follows:
  • I had too little score for the game to save.
  • That level has King Skip not work like any other level.
  • The game has a defect on XP
  • I failed King Skip in a way I've never done before
The reason why this is weird is that the game saves after the level is completed. It might work if I entered the store, then left?

Is it possible that hourglass r81 on XP has some setting that caused it to skip saving properly? Did I possibly not collect enough coin in that level for the game to count it?

No write permissions to where it's trying to save to, maybe? Or it doesn't handle spaces in the save path? Total shots in the dark here.
It saved me completing the first level.

So, somehow, I complete the level, I make the video, then I notice something. The game thinks I didn't play the level. I open up the game. Once again, the game doesn't think I beat the level, and the score for that level is zero. Any idea why?

Well, I completed 1-2. Except that since this game lets you do the levels in a world in any order (Except for the very first level, the end of each world, and 8-5 and 8-6) So I ended up doing a different level second. Should I just wait to complete the world before I post another video?

This might be a misunderstanding of the mechanics, but at 0:44 instead of jumping from the high point, could you have dropped down, jumped such that you enter the wall at 0:46 at the peak of the jump (or as high as you can get without having to slow down - could jump earlier than 0:44 so you clear the high point with downward momentum for example, so you can jump again earlier) so that you enter the wall at the same time (because you never slowed down horizontally) but higher, so you save time?
I know that being in the air is faster than walking along the ground. I also know that there are problems with wall climbs when you hit the ceiling. Also, that wall is really annoying, due to it's shape. I think it could be faster, but I'm not sure. Here's why I'm not sure that could save time. If I clip not high enough into a wall, I'll be ejected with no momentum, which is not helpful. Also, if I am moving downwards too much, I can't enter the wall properly either. So, point is, I'm not sure if I can enter the wall sooner.

New run? Hype~
Hype indeed. Rerecord bug sadly still exists. Also, the run seems like it's several milliseconds faster at boot on Win XP, which is enough to desync the game on Win 7, so I have to encode on XP, and take the file and convert it to H.264 on Win 7. Which is going to be a pain

Good news: I've made a run, and it syncs on windows XP http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/18939770481876056 Bad news: It desyncs on windows 7. Because of this, the video will be delayed.

Sorry had to vote meh. The sprite glitch was entertaining at first, then it broke my mind so much I couldn't comprehend it, so, not that entertaining.

While Chaos Edition would be a LOT of fun, it crashes the Emulator.
Is there a particular reason it does? Modifing the rom in play? Uses an outside program?

Link to video I think a TAS of this game would be very odd, given what you could corrupt with luck manipulation

I'm not done, but I'm really loving the movie so far. Also, any reason koops does that really long jump around 15:19 in the YouTube encode?

So I was going to be all Gungho, I saved 994 frames or 19.88 seconds, but when I tried to play it back on win7, it desynced "at a point between frame 16 and 32", causing the run to not play properly at all. Here's the movie, encase its just me who can't get it to sync

This same bug show up on 32 bit XP as well. Also, XP keeps changing the focus to the game window, exacerbating the bug.
