I know someone posted a cracked XP iso on here. Can someone link me to it again? Or tell me how to get my XP VM to recognize another virtual harddrive (in VirtualBox)? Or increase the disk size of an existing VirtualBox HDD?

Sure this is faster and all... but the constant scrolling of Jellybeans totally took away from the entertainment factor and made it annoying to watch. Congrats on the improvement and all, but... meh. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

http://www.twitch.tv/sockfolder/c/5125909 Hack n' Slash is a game based around editing the game's code. It's not a trick, you're really changing the LUA the game runs on (and recompiles/decompiles dynamically during run time). Here is a speedrun of the game by sockfolder in 7 minutes. As soon as he gets the item that lets you edit code (Bombs) he sets up a wrong warp to the end of the game. I don't know if this game runs in hourglass or not, but it doesn't need mouse to play.
scripting does not play nice with Hourglass. I don't think it will work

Why ten levels and not twenty or thirty? The enemies get faster later in the game, which would make the TAS more interesting. As it stands, this is too brief and inconsequential to be of any merit.
10 is the point where there's no new content. I think max score seems better to me. When you play an arcade game, you go for score, not when the stages loop.

Ok, so I was planning to get it started today, but it turns out I've run out of windows keys, so I'll have to change VM's and I'm just not up for that today. sorry!

The battle report and the final cutscene are considered separate from the credits, so not to worry.
Meaning that the song that is an issue isn't playing during it?

I would say to just remove them, but it's up to you.
But leave the battle report screen up at the end.

Wouldn't truly optimal Q-bert have no backtracking? At least in the first couple of levels before the monsters that help you out.

If you notice, i run back before every spike. Even if doesnt seem like it, its frame perfect (exactly one frame of taking damage), that's why I thought it would be a nice trick. There isn't a way to keep running and dodge the spikes. So i chose that over standing still and waiting - that would look really boring.
See, I personally think that looks slopy

Could you be more specific?
There was this one auto scroller in the sand land where Mickey was small and he ran forwards, but he then had to turn back.

I voted Meh because there were a few times you were noticeably sloppy. Like when you had to run back because you couldn't make it to the next gap. Other than a few mistakes like that, the run was good.

Does anyone of you have a proof that this even works on console?
Not that it invalidates the run if it doesn't sync on console.
It's not invalidated if it doesn't sync on console, no. But if it's not possible to do the glitch on console, then the run is no good. It's not valid to do a TAS that exploits an emulator only glitch, because it's a flaw in the emulator, not in the game's programming.
OK, I don't get the split here. if it doesn't sync on console, then isn't there some emulation error?

When I start Iji and want to activate the Windowed mode, it stops working. However, if I press Enter to start the fullscreen mode, the game starts in Windowed mode. I started the game and during the intro, the game froze. I start another test… Now I skip the intro. Okay, I DON'T move the windows or else the display is wrecked up. The game seems to work normally from there, just without sound. I just disabled multithreading. OS: Windows XP Virtual Machine: Virtualbox Hourglass r81
Maybe it's my broken XP version? Oh, and I should start it in "full screen"? I think I'm going to re install everything tomorrow.

Ok, so I've got an XP VM running, and It started out with the same kind of problems that it did on windows 7. Except after applying the recommended settings, it will simply refuse to run, and hourglass unpauses and goes in fast forward. I changed them back, but it still did the thing it did the second time. You sure this game works with hourglass?

Scrubbing Serena Beach has been accurate in Dolphin since 4.0. 4.0-1706 fixed the cutscene skip. You do the cutscene skip by killing yourself as you get in range of the cutscene. In Dolphin when clipping out of bounds to perform it, there used to be an invisible wall. I got it on my first try after this build was released. For more information, it was featured in the May progress report and the build can be found here - https://dolphin-emu.org/download/dev/cffa848b9960bcf3dd7a5f3dfd8cdbe417b6ec55/
I was talking about J, E, or U.

Scrubbing Serena Beach works properly in Dolphin now, and has for quite a while. Bad video card settings (forcing anti-aliasing, for instance) can cause problems, and certain video cards/drivers can't up the IR without the goop glitching out. The cutscene skip used in speedruns involving killing yourself by fazing through one of the roofs on Delfino plaza should work now as well. I'd use very, very recent versions of Dolphin, though, as it was fixed within the last 300 revisions.
Great! What version are you talking about?

Only one thing that might be able to be shaved off: why do you fire those shots that don't hit anything? Doesn't that lag the game?
