On a PC, win xp pro SP3. USB keyboard.
I just tried new 2.0.4 interim. It behaves differently from 2.0.3 but still not working right.
The different from previous was:
Sometime if I push CTRL, it does pause (but other time it won't).
While it's being paused, if I push CTRL again, it goes 1 frame, then it decides to unpause after 1 second later.
No lockup so far.

I used ctrl as frame advance all the time for fceu 98.##
I mean, I use right hand on arrows and thumb on ctrl. Left hand on gamepad pro 4 buttons since that keyboard doesn't accept 3 keys or more.
If I try to make mario moves right and jump in frame advance, I use my left hand on a button then right hand for arrow right, then tap frame advance with thumb on ctrl, there's no other suitable key for a thumb while being on arrows keys.
Number 0 on keypad would have been next suitable key for the pinky finger, but again keyboard doesn't accept 3 keys at a time (if I press left + right + 0, keyboard would ignore 0) ctrl, alt, del doesn't limit keys.
I guess it might be the end of fceu tas for me.

What I did is change frame advance from "backslash" to ctrl (right), and checked other hotkey to see if other were using ctrl (I don't think there was)
Then if I try to use ctrl, it pause emu, then unpause itself after 1 second. Or sometime cause emu to lock up. Once I had emu opening up all emu windows (debugger, cheat menu, input config window, etc etc...)

Look like 2.0.3 is required, 2.0.2 won't load this movie.
About the run, the game itself doesn't look fun but viewable because the run is short. Nice job on optimizing tho.
Neutral view from me, but it should be published because it's an improvement over previous run.

You ended movie at final shot on Wily, but there's dialog with Ballade waiting for button presses before you get to "Thanks for playing" screen.
There's rule that says you need to complete it.

Ok, I have big problem.
I can't even find exit in level 15.. plus I can't find any FAQ on this game. Any help on finding exit would be nice, I'm starting to think this game is broken.
*edit - just found it and figured out what to do shortly after I posted it, haha. NEVERMIND.

My friend had been working on this game. I have been helping him a little, we've done up to level 12 but he's losing motivation to finish it (since we have no idea how many levels in this game and he thinks it might get rejected)
I might take over his TAS.

Opinion? Tips? Noticed any mistake or trick we haven't noticed?

My god it's working, I no longer have to rip with isobuster.
edit - where to see frame counter and lag counter? And is "read ahead" caching mode required for TASing? It's causing alot of lag, thread read plays cd smooth.

Back to that.. I still want to try make PCSX read from cd-rom drive. Trying to make iso from isobuster is just waste of time. I think I have make 1 step forward. I had to install Adaptec ASPI v4.71.2, now it's detecting my dvd-rom / cd-rom drive. But it still refuse to run cd-game, no matter what setting I try to change on cd-rom plugin. Have anyone managed to make cd-rom plugin to work from cd-rom drive?
Maybe I'm stuck on "read-mode" part, if I try to push "Try Auto-detection" then it just crash. So I have been trying select each one manually, it hasn't still read from cd-rom.
I tried to check "Don't wait until drive is ready" and choose "read subchannel", it's still not working, any other option?.. I mean what the hell, epsxe reads psx cd-rom just fine without installing ASPI.

I couldn't find planned update anywhere, anyway - Is multiple disc support planned for the future update? I read somewhere that PCSX doesn't support multiple disc in rerecording, that kinda stops me from wanting to try recording run for Parasite Eve (2 discs game)
edit - add "find" whoops, my mind slipped

I use ImgBurn, I personally found it to be more reliable and easy to use than the other DVD burners I've tried. (other dvd burner that I've tried randomly crash, destroys dvd-r, or too confusing interface)
It's free, but it doesn't do format converting.

I tried mooby cdr, I started recording a play, then playback it goes all the way from begin to end properly - no desync at all. Nicely done so far, MZ.

Umm, can someone explain how to set up CDR plugin? It's complaining about "select drive" but the drive drop-list is empty.
Oh and does bios version matters? I have 7502 instead of 1001

Apparently Galoob tried to change character / number into other character and swap around position, maybe just to make them looks "magicial".

Yeah what Nitrodon said /\. To do that, set breakpoint on RAM address, then play the game. It'll pause game and point somewhere in ROM that are altering RAM. You can change it to different opcode (changing from "substract" into some other opcode that doesn't do anything or doesn't crash game). That will be your Game Genie code, you'll have to convert it to game genie format, as long as it's coming from ROM offset.
Meh, it's too hard to make it clear, maybe I'm too tired. Maybe someone else can explain it better.
But I'm curious, assuming that you're making a TAS, why do you need game genie if you already have RAM cheat? The only thing I can think of is hacking them into ROM.
