Reading more and it actually just might be a game oddity http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/519689-metroid/43159209 Although its hard to say if its more evident in emulation. Thanks for the tips on the other emulators. On my GP2x handheld, I'm limited to a port of FCE and another homebrew emu. I just tried in windows because I could move the save state and/or use a password.

I doubt it. Because I used the password I got from playing in FCEUX and used it on orignal hardward and the same dragons were spitting fireballs. This was also the case on JNES. I'm using FCEUX in Windows 7 and GPFCE on GP2x Wiz.

Was playing Metroid and noticed some serious slow-down when I fought Ridley. I popped in my original cart to see if the issue was just part of the original game and it turns out that it was. Even when playing on original hardware there was very noticeable slow-down at many points in the game. Anyway, playing the original game caused me to realize that when I was playing in Fceux the dragons in the lava in Norfair that spit fireballs at you were not spitting fireballs. I tried this on multiple versions of fceu and they never would spit fireballs at me. In JNES they do spit the fireballs FYI I don't expect anyone reading this to fix this problem, but it was an oddity so I thought I would report it.
