Game objectives
  • Emulator used: psxjin 2.0.2
  • BIOS used: scph-1000.bin
  • Collect 100% missions
Techniques and Tricks
  • Skip special frames: I found in game when start rush run and sometime turning have 2 frames make character have feeze standing. Then I passed it by a little jump (jump at start rush or 3-5 frames after rush)
  • Run on air: When rushing, character can run a little on air. I make this for little entertaiment, fake fall into hole
  • About collect missions: This run didn't aim fastest, because sometime for collect, I can't jump for skip special frames
  • Bonus stages: In this stages can't make rush, it mean can't make faster normal way. I tried made look more difficult for little entertaiment
Possible Improves
  • I don't know how to write script for detect special frames. I just detect them by my eyes, not sure I can detect all because look all frames nearly same same, hard to detect. With a scripter can easy see them
Thanks
p/s: Pepsi, NOT only my choice :D

feos: Judging...
feos: Fixed the movie length in the movie header.
feos: Known TASable sound plugins don't seem to support music during levels, so accepting to Vault as it is.
Guga: Next project.

"This video has been removed because it is too long." *sighs* Providing encode. Link to video Music wasn't working no matter what settings was put on. Edit: By the way. NEVER drink Pepsi it has a substance which causes cancer which they don't have written on the ingredients side. WATER FTW!

Wow, never seen that before. How could a video of an approximately 10 minute TAS be too long? Awaiting Spikestuff's encode.

Great run. This game was bit trip runner before bit trip runner was.. And in 3D! :P I almost have to say that a musicless encode is better... The music is funny only when it busts out the pepsimaaaaaaan and otherwise it's boring. I loved the beating the truck to skip the slide in 1-2 and all the times you were too lazy to jump over the gap, but still made it. The sliding to slow down since you were always right behind the truck spitting stuff at you reminded me of the Excitebike going slower to go faster :P The comparison video from showed how much further back from the trucks you are supposed to be. I can think of better ways to collect 100 pepsi cans though... (and also I assume the time listed is for the total of stage times, but typically it should be full input time needed to beat the game right?)

Oh my GOD! I'm voting no just because this is the dumbest idea for a game I have ever seen in my life. I mean, I've seen licensed games before for movies or TV shows, but a fuggin' soft drink? I hope the developers got paid a lot of money to make this, because I wouldn't touch this turkey with a barge pole.

And here I was thinking the vote was on whether or not you found the movie entertaining and not if you think the game's premise is shit. The game is Japan only because pepsiman was a Japanese advertising campaign (which is genuinely creepy...). I found the movie entertaining especially to show the running sections where he would split two boxes which is a great example of something you would do in a TAS, but never in normal gameplay.

We got an issue the time is meant to be 19:32.27 which is 70347 frames long not 37163 frames.

An alternate encode should be provided which shows off the cutscenes, which are honestly the best part of this game. Anyway, yes vote from me!

The time issue is because the site uses the frame count in movie header (offset 0x10, ~37k) but apparently PSXjin uses the number of actually present frames (~70k)...

Standard YouTube accounts, without extended YouTube video privileges, have a maximum limit of 15m30s, if I recall correctly. Since the movie is actually about 70k frames long, the video probably broke that limit (and N?K doesn't have extended YouTube video privileges, apparently).
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. Aww man, the lack of the Pepsiman theme in that encoding makes it a lot more boring. That theme makes the game! For better or for worse...

The sad thing is that I've actually played that game before. As pathetic a game Captain Novolin is, at least it had the right idea on teaching kids about diabetes. Pepsiman does nothing but promote a soft drink that has no health or educational benefits whatsoever. This is dump.

Wow. This feels a bit like Paperboy upgraded to the modern era. Pepsiman is pretty buff too; you do spend most of the game staring at his butt, after all. Going for 100% was definitely the right choice for entertainment. The pit escapes were cool. I'm curious about how much of this is feasible in a real-time run. It seems like a real-time run should be able to get fairly close to this time, even if it can't do all the same gimmicks. In terms of games where you spend a lot of time proceeding at about one fixed speed, I want to say that this is more interesting than Paperboy, but it's less interesting than something like Star Fox or Crash Bandicoot. This gets a Meh leaning towards Yes. If it didn't have the bonus rounds, it would probably be a Yes in entertainment. ... oh, and Stage 2 Scene 2's ending is awesome.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

This is awesome. Silly heroes are funny. He's so good he doesn't even have to open the pepsi he buys out of the machine.

Thanks for the encode, Spikestuff. This was really funny. And the run is well played, too. Yes vote!

For what its worth, Pepsi is still just as retarded in 2014 as it ever has been. Pepsiman 2 with DLC?
