I might try one on this game. Might take me a while to get back into it. I havent played it now for ages. If you know anything helpful towards this game, please comment.

you can try to study routes at the moment... since the "all game boy" rerecording emulator isn't ready. I know there are many interesting warps, but i don't remember any usefull glitch. You should peek at gamefaqs ! :]

Someone on the GameFAQs board for that game put up a list of tricks and secrets at http://members.fortunecity.com/supermarioland/. It's not really complete, but it had a couple of "get onto the ceiling" tricks that I didn't know about.

Ok..I have 1-1 done.. But.. I gotta ask a few questions. Theres a glitch i can do.. but it might add on around 2 seconds. so.. i dunno if i should do it or not. 2nd, is should i get to the Bonus stages on every round? or save time by just running to the finish at the bottem.

Didn't somebody propose PRETENDING to go for the bonus stage, then suddenly dropping down? Maybe I just misunderstood.

I dunno where you got that from. I think it would be cool if i went to every bonus round and got +3 lives everytime. and there is also a glitch/secret i wanna do in the first level, but it may slow it down by 2 seconds. i might do it anyway for entertainment.

Say, doesn't every third level let you play the bonus game anyway? Maybe you could get a fireflower then.

Bonus can be gotten in every level. You just have to get to the upper exit (there are 2 exits). Bonus can just take more time than taking it manually in a level.

Right, but 1-3, 2-3, and 3-3 don't have multiple exits. So I THINK you always get the bonus games in them... But I could be wrong.

Your not wrong. Thats how it works. But i was thinking of getting to the Bonus in every level as quikck as possible and getting +3 lives

You could, but that would probably get boring pretty quickly, with the viewer saying, "Yeah, yeah, I know, I know, he's gonna get three lives AGAIN." But I admit that being able to reach the upper exit every time might look cool, and you can get Mario frozen off the top of the screen just to be funny.

Yeah i can do that.. Maybe i can get all +1's in world 1, +2's in world 2, and all +3's in world 3. haha. that would be kinda cool.

Yeah, I guess, though I'm not sure if everybody would notice the pattern. If you decide to go just for speed, though, my preliminary tests show that getting 1 life is 29 frames faster than getting a flower as small Mario, getting a flower as big Mario is 40 frames faster than getting 1 life, and getting a flower as ball-throwing Mario is 64 frames faster than getting a flower as big Mario. So what you go for in the bonus games may depend on what power-ups you plan to use in the levels. And since the starting positions of Mario and the prizes are randomized, you can probably manipulate the game to give you a straightaway path to the prize you want from the very start.

Sure go for 3 lives every time, see how much you can beat this by:

I have a practise run done. Finishing in 14:40 with 27 lives and using no warps(no tunnel warps either). Just a fun play around for me to see any different/quicker routes and stuff like that.

I haven't found a single warp in this game, tunnel or level.

The tunnels with some coins in them don't warp you anywhere, you come out the same place you entered.

How many timeunits did you get for 1-1 (and 1-2 if you finished it?) I tried timeattacking this but I couldn't find a way to avoid stopping once in 1-1. The area in question is here:

Can't you take a flying leap off that row of bricks on your left there? I don't see why you couldn't.
