I've been playing Golf for NES lately, and I think that it would be cool/funny to watch an impressive run through the 18 holes. I think that someone could come up with some nice tricks and stuff (i.e. landing on a pixel just next to the water, using the wind to your advantage, etc.) and of course hole-in-one's. bad idea? opinions? :)

I got -21 on that game on console when I was a kid :). Played it a lot. The thing is that it is not very hard once you learn the physics of the game. The power meter is really slow, so it is not hard at all to get the power you want. Of course the hardest part when you are not used to it is which club to choose. I think that it would look too easy to be interresting unfortunately. =/

Damn, I only have -9. Yes, I know it might look easy, but I'll wait and see what someone (Phil ;)) will say about it. I mean I never thought a Goonies 2, Arkanoid and Chip 'n Dale run would be impressive to watch -- but I was very wrong.

A while back, I found a VirtuaNES movie of Golf being completed in 40 strokes (-32) on a Japanese time attack site which I can no longer find. So, for now, I put up a copy at http://www.freechess.org/~toddmf/golf.vmv . It'll probably only be up for a few days, so get it now if you want it!

40 strokes (-32)
You mean -40 / 32 strokes. It looks like he got the best possible score.

Oops. You're right. The video was even better than my memory of it :) I didn't see a way to improve on that score, either.
