I am working on a non-TAS run of The lost levels for SNES. which should I do first, a minimalist completion or full completion speedrun of the game? I will be playing as Mario.

Nintendo did a great job of updating the graphics in Super Mario All-Stars while still retaining the look and feel of the original game, but for TAS purposes I would probably still prefer to see the original NES version. I'll definitely watch it whichever one you choose. I vote warpless, since there's isn't a warpless SMB2J run yet.

Indeed, Dan_ MOVED. And I second the idea of playing the original version.

The original was for the Famicom Disk System (FDS). You could play with an emulator, but it probably couldn't be considered for any kind of record. It would have to be for entertainment purposes only.

i've decided to keep on working on the minimalist run. I'm hoping to get it near TAS standard, just without any major glitches. walljumps are too hard to pull off usually in a normal speedrun, they happen occasionally but not enough that I can trust it. Obviously I cant slide through walls when I am small either.
