I was actually starting a small only minimalist run. I was wondering if it would be even worth submitting? I asked skamastaG for example and he said it will just be like the 86 or so run. I agree on this but I also think a minimalist run will be more obsoleted and beaten, and I thought this is a good way to start it off, what do you guys think? If it isn't worth submitting then it isn't worth even doing. So anyway heres a preview http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2712/small%20only.smv Thanks, Mrz
Like greginator said, this would be way too identical to their 86 exit run. I mean it's the exact same run, minus grabbing Yoshi coins.
I agree with Fabian.

None yet. It's up to greg and skamasta to release them :).

I dont want to release public WIPs because that would spoil the run for when it comes out. To whet your appetite for the rest of this run and give you a taste of what it will be like, however, here is a short teaser showing just Castle #2 done small. SMW Small Only - Castle #2 - by thegreginator and skamastaG There's plenty more where that came from. ;) And yes the rerecord count is fake.

Haha, I knew a small-only run had to have lots of walljumping. I applaud you for having the patience to perform these tricks... I know walljumps take a lot of rerecords to do properly.

You used a preexisting run and just resumed after the title+menus since there's no way to do those faster, and you didn't hex edit the rerecord count to be 0 so it just kept building from the previous run's count. That or you really suck and take forever to do things :P

shame shame. Since that's kinda what I did on my test runs of DKC2, maybe I should have recognized that... as long as the author's listed in the ROM info aren't incorrect then it's no biggie I guess

I didn't have to mess with the menus at all. I extracted this level from the full run and pasted it onto a new run I started from the appropriate savestate, thus the re-record count was 0. So I edited it to 102417, but why that number?

Hello fellow SMW TAS enthusiasts! This game is awesome and I have followed this thread from the beginning and decided to finally post. I'm assuming that both runs will not be unveiled until they are finished, which is fine. I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me the progress on any of the runs, or some sort of estimated time they will be completed. Thanks in advance for this information and good luck to everyone involved in these runs!

Hi Kroxien, thanks for your interest! I'm not sure which runs you're referring to, since there are three runs in progress (11 exit by me & JXQ, 96 exit by me and 85 exit small by thegreginator & skamastaG). The 11 exit run is currently at the Big Boo fight. I would guess no more than 2 weeks for it to be finished, and quite possibly sooner. The 96 exit run is currently in Vanilla Ghost House. This one is tougher to guess, it'll depend on motivation and how much time I have to spend on it. 5 months? Who knows, could be much less and could certainly be more.

Thanks for the info Fabian, I actually didn't know you were making another 96 exit run. Your first run was so good though, how much do you think you can beat it by?

Thank you. I'm keeping the estimated time saved quiet to not spoil anything, but it's much more than I had ever expected.

Heck the previous was more than anyone expected, so can't wait... All this working on SMW... I thought as soon as the 120 came out that SMW was done, but 4 runs on the way... wow
