This is a demonstration run of Baseball Simulator 1.000. This is not a normal baseball game. This game plays in the "Ultra" league, which allows special techniques. For example, a hit that blows up when a defender tries to catch it. This run simply shows each special hit, a strikeout with all-special pitches and 2 special defensive moves.
No special emulator options were used. This was recorded with FCEU 0.98.16
This run was recorded a while ago, while I was trying to learn the idiosyncrasies of controlling 2 players in FCEU. It is, however, quite precise (I hate to have even test-runs unoptimized), so I recently decided it was submission-worthy, so this is the result.
Goals: - Aim for entertainment - Demonstrate special moves - Is a concept demo

NesVideoAgent: Hi! I am a robot. I took a few screenshots of this movie and placed them here. Here goes! Feel free to clean up the list.

EDIT: This is set to cancelled, as there were 5 no votes (out of 5). Clearly this TAS doesn't meet the goals of tasvideos

Err, not really too entertaining to be honest. The only part that I kinda smiled at was when you plowed the pitcher and two fielders into the back wall. The game design is creative, but the skills you showed are just overpowered and boring. Also, the goal here, even as a concept, doesn't really fit to this site all that well (in my opinion). It's great that you showcased how boring the game was, so that I never have to play it in the future.

Err, you do know that the title screen in your Tom & Jerry-run is improvable with around 14 frames... right? As for the run... I did not like it, but I will watch it again before voting. I seem to have a hard time enjoying "Aims for entertainment"-runs.

If you were gonna do this, couldn't you at least have done the SNES version?

Um, no. Could you have at least completed the game? Are you aware that this (and most baseball games) end when a team has a 10 run lead at the end of an inning. Just score 1 more time and then do some fun stuff to get 3 outs on the bottom of the inning. 2-player is kind of nice but it means you can't exploit the AI which can be fun . But you also don't do interesting things with player 2. Like if you want a player on base you simply neglect to throw the ball. How about time it so the ball gets there like 1 frame from getting the runner out? There is so much more you could do with this concept. Why not steal a base or two. And if you were going to do something like this, RBI baseball is probalby a better choice as it has a much larger following. And it has several exploitable quirks. I made test run of the game. It was about 3min 30sec, 1 inning, did all sorts of exploits against the AI, and explioted some bugs in the game. But I didn't submit because I thought it could be better and I thought even a better version would be very good. A nes baseball game is just a bad idea.

I love this game. Did you know if you go over 255 runs, it goes back to zero?

I'm not surprised. Many games have similar errors, especially on the NES. In Super Mario Bros. 2, after getting 255 lives the lives count goes down to 0. It might be funny to do a "gag" run that gets a score of 255-1, then scores 1 more run and loses. But only the ending part would be funny, the rest would take too long.

As a comcept demo, I will make no comment about the questionable goals, but I still found it really, really bland.

Um, given that there are 5 no votes and no "yes" or "meh" votes, I suppose I'll cancel this.

More than you know... The game crashes on an emulator if you load the same state more than 5 times. It was pretty frustrating.

There was a glitch that I discovered when I was making a set of cheats to make everyone run as fast as lightning, hitting as hard, and pitching fast in speeds in excess of 150 mph, All the runners on base, the ball so high up in the air, but the umpire calls one of the runners out right before the home run with one less run gained than usual. If it is the third out, the runs aren't counted. If there are no runners on base when this happens, the home run sequence gets interrupted. If it is bases loaded and the pitcher is in a pinch, he'll still be in a pinch after the glitch occurred. I would like this glitch to be showcased in the next TAS of this game. Also as a side note, I found a crash bug. It is likely due to a programming oversight. When I created cheat for infinite ultra points for team 1, it caused a conflict with the fifth batter's ultra powers, and will freeze the game when the bat hits the ball while using the ultra power. You should leave effects off until the match-up screen appears, and turn effects off after the game is over.
