Here is the latest version of my time attack of Altered Beast for Genesis. It is 6:21.58 long, which is a 22.73 second improvement over my previous version that I didn't submit. Every attack hits an enemy, even if they are off the screen. Just check the score and it'll go up. It was recorded in Gens, like normal.

I would love to see somebody do a 2-playerime-attack of this game. I can't due to keyboard limitations. The main reason I haven't improved this movie is because I'd like to see a 2-player version, which I cannot make. Anybody up to the task?

Altered Beast is a game that looks like it could have been found in an arcade playing machine.
This game was indeed first released as an arcade game, later on ported to the Genesis/Mega Drive.

Wow! Nice bounce. Long since anybody talked about this game. Wonder if a 2p run would be slower or faster. I might do some testings later in my life. It's a good game, and the first one I got for my mega drive. I was 7 years old I think. :)

It's probably faster since the screen has 2 edges (duh hehe) so you can kill enemies that appear from both sides faster than just 1p.

The scroll speed depends on how fast you can kill all the enemies. Unless there's lag, more enemies, or the bosses have more health, 2 players would be faster.

More precisely, the screen scrolls at 2 fixed different speeds: - slow when there are enemies on the screen. - fast when there are no enemies on the screen.

there are actually 3 speeds, because at some points, there's no scrolling (in the normal version) A 2P run is much faster, taken the example of me and my friend Danny, who roughly tied THIS score without emulator

Maybe one at the hardest difficulty? Remeber that you could press B and START at the titlescreen to bring up the option meny.
