It's a fun platforming game with plenty of hidden things. It's basically Sonic with a gun, but it is still a very good game. So yeah, it's fast, and it got shooting. The current emulation status is that it runs, but has redrawing issues. It also triggers a lot of exceptions, but that's apparently as designed. The guns, the enemies, the bosses, the graphics, the level design, the physics, the sound effects and the music.

what he means to say is that they're entirely different games with nothing in common.

when I was watching the Duke Nukem run, this game sprang back to my mind. Jazz Jackrabbit was awesome back in the day (only the first one with the expansion packs - the other two weren't as good IMHO). Let's hope the emulation will improve so somebody can run it. I'd LOVE to see this :-)

For those who want to see this happen: Ilari is working on running the demo version of Jazz Jackrabbit. Hopefully someone will pick up where he left off once he finishes it. I just uploaded his second WIP to Youtube: Link to video

Oh man, that stage 2 music brings back so many good memories. Such an excellent game! Such a fast-paced TAS!

Yeah, I have it in my MOD collection actually. I still prefer Brandon's soundtrack to the second game, as well as all his later works.

Oh god, now I love the run even more than I did before. Well done Ilari, and keep up the pace.

I wonder what episode will be next, X? Z? or simply 2? One thing for sure, JJ has some great music and the palette animations are sweet looking too. Then there are some stylish filters in other episodes.

This is the (probably) final version of the run. Ilari has said he'll probably submit it once he's done with the builds for the version of JPC-RR. Link to video

Great work Ilari! Been following those WIPs since the first one. Good to see more childhood games destroyed as that was around when I moved away from snes towards PC gaming :)

Looks good, but I think a 100% collection run would be even cooler.

I came to this thread to say 'why hasn't this been submitted?' and got my answer! Submit!

I did first draft WIP (to end of the game) of Jazz Jackrabbit Holiday Hare '94 (there's also '95 version, that has totally different levels) Link to video This is first WIP and as such, I'll need to redo it at least once before I consider it submittable. And regarding killing that flying demon with fire shield, I have no idea why I did that. Also, after warping in level 3, Jazz appears to lose the fire shield for some reason... Well, I temporarily get something even better in exchange: Full immunity to damage (expires in few seconds with fire shield returning)

Does Jazz move faster than any type of bullets travel? Is it maybe faster to use the blue launcher to trigger end of level sign earlier at 1:40?
