Looks great, Phailsku! I know that this TAS isn't meant to be serious and 100% optimized or anything, but if I could make a couple of suggestions: -On the 4th shine (Spraying the beach), you could use this method of using a spam spray out of a rollout -On Pianta 2, the text cancellation by standing within the range of speaking to the dancer when Piantissimo talks to you does work at this point in the game iirc, so you could save about 7 text boxes worth of time there -During the Ricco pirahna plant, you can pick up the blue coin in the 'M' behind the box while waiting for the 2nd phase I hope you take these into consideration :)

Yeah the rollout spam spray actually hadn't been discovered back when I did that shine :\ I was unaware of the text skip and collecting the blue coin during the ricco plant never occured to me. Have these strats been found any time recently? I have never heard of them before but I took a break for a few months and just recently came back.

If I'm not mistaken, using FLUDD's spray nozzle and flipping causes a huge, instantaneous spray shot (often seen when doing the first Petey Piranha fight). I assume it's the same as the backflip in that respect, anyway.

One gets a large, scattershot burst of water when doing R+A, provided one could spray normally (thus, not just while belly-sliding) yes. However, one only does a backflip if one is on the ground standing. It does use an appropriately large amount of water, though. I can't remember, but I think there's some other proviso to rapidly activating it, like having R go to fully released between them...

Thx Mugg and especially zelpikukirby for that trick. I work on a 100% TAS and was able to take the blue coin in the tower and do this skip at the same time.

At around 16:57 in the video: Wouldn't it be faster to get the shine appearing animation from the beach (the one you got at around 16:11) at the same time the light house appears instead of having to wait twice? You have some time right after defeating the piranha plant so I think it may be possible. Or have you already tried this?

Yes i tried. Sure i can get the shine before the cutscene but cant do anything after. The blue window never appears, there is only a white screen endlessly.

That was fun to watch. I know there's improvements here and there, but since this is a large game for a 100%, I think at least finishing a TAS of it would already be nice. :)
