Ryu, a descendant from the Dragon Clan, has a very important mission : destroy an evil religion that is taking over the world. However, despite his dragon powers, he realises that his own strength is far more important.
In this new improvment by Janus, the hero, by fishing out the strongest weapon in the game, manages to reduce the use of his powers and improve the run by over 5,5 minutes
This is (already!) my 3rd submission of this game. Here are the major changes :
  • I only go to Wildcat's once and don't go to get chopchop
  • I get Katt the Bronze staff in Simafort...
  • ...Which made me save one round of fighting against the giant roach
  • The first part of the blue roach trial was (almost) the luckiest possible
  • I don't get Eichichi as soon as I can. Rather, I wait until I get the Great Bird. A 3k frames save
  • During that trip, I fish out the Empire sword, the strongest weapon of the game. When he's on attack up, Ryu is a real killing machine. He never gets to use his dragon powers when he gets it.
  • To make the fight against Barubary easier, I had to get the Medusa Shield and fight night riders. It was quite a pain, but the fight was 1,3k frames shorter.
  • Finally, against Deathevn, I saved over 5k frames by not using my dragon powers
Suggestion for an image : frame 701 382 (give or take 2), when Nina walks over the rock in the Sky Cave

adelikat: Accepting as an improvement to the published movie.

I looked at the times and yeah, it is 5 minutes at the least! I have watched the first two and realized how interesting this RPG can be. A lot of work, especially 4 hours, have been put in and it's fairly interesting all the way through. Are you still planning on doing the first Breath of Fire run sometime in the future? Or even planning to beat this again under the influence of corrupting save data? For the time, being, I'll submit my vote and wait for an encode. No pressure. [Y]
Do I look like someone who really cares what God thinks?! "GI Joe: The Atlantis Factor" - May be improved in the future.

All right, it's about time I watch a TAS of BoFII ever since I lost my game's save (stupid battery/hardware failure...). Will somebody do a commentary for this one too?

Huh, so the method I used in my run (empire sword+atk up) did end up being the fastest method when combined with the meow staff. Awesome. Easy yes vote for this one.

It should be noted that for ROM Filename the file extension is smv instead of smc. Sorry, random OCD thing, but a yes vote from me.

No vote for the following 3 reasons; 1. Fails to color a Dinosaur 2. It's not BOFIII so I can't drool over Momo. 3. See #1 Nah, it was too slick a run to ignore its other merits. It passes with a Yes. :) Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Easy yes vote for me. Less dragons = more entertainment. Couple that with a faster completion time and we have a winner. ... I didn't watch it yet, so take my vote as you wish. But I liked the previous run(s), and wished for more powerful physical criticals ("Special") to begin with, so there is no doubt that I'll like this new run. Great job!
I lurk, okay?

Haven't watched it yet, (or voted) but I'm volunteering to do commentary with someone, as I'm a huge fan of the series and am salivating at this improvement.

<Grunt> OmnipotentEntity, it might be a good idea to post in the thread to indicate that you're encoding the run.
