About the game

Metal Max is a classic RPG that released by DATA EAST in Japen in the year 1991. It's famous for it's two modes of battle including human-battle and tank-battle. The high degree of freedom is also a significant feature in this game. The background of the story is set in future that a major disaster occurs on Earth and many monsters rampage everywhere. The hero pursues his dream of becoming a hunter and be kicked out the house by his father. In this game there are eight tanks available for collection and eleven wanted available challenge. The final condition to complete the game is to defeat the boss Noah and go home then you will see the Chinese characters "完" means "The End" after a long trailers video.
This movie mainly used three major glitches. The hero and partner gets on the same tank at the same time will copy a tank. When use a pharmacy to trailer the ATK of the hero will be close to the maximum. After fire a panic bomb to enemy by tank there will be a chance to make it to escape.

The improvement

  • Dodged the dog in the cave to the south of Rio Lado by Luck Manipulation to skip a fixed battle and a long fixed plot and then saved a lot of time than record.
  • When arrived the house of the first partner get off the tank at once and saved some frames than record.
  • In the dialogue with the girl in Coronal Building selected the option "no" and saved some frames than record.
  • In Noah base selected a shorter route to open the center door.

Other

It's the first time the glitch of "dodge the dog" be applied to TAS of Metal Max. There will be a few seconds of waiting time to make a Luck Manipulation in the movie.

At last, I hope you will like this game.

Welcome, suwei! I'm quite glad to see an improvement of this game. I haven't watched the movie yet, but I plan on seeing it later today. I have two questions: 1) Were you able to improve any battles? 2) Do you know any good resources for translating the dialogue of this game? This game would be more popular for English speakers if there were a translation of the dialogue.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. As far as I can find, the only english translation is of the SNES remake. You can find the patch here: http://agtp.romhack.net/project.php?id=mmr

Hello!Thank you for your support. I had some ideas about the improvement of battles.I had tried it many times but failed. And I'm still trying it. There is only a japanese version.Metal Max Return has a English version at present.

Alright, I watched the movie. Good job with the improvements. I'd probably notice them more if I could read the dialog, but it was still a good movie to watch. The music is awesome. There are surprisingly very few fights. You do have to wait a LONG time for that dog though. Is there anything else you could have done besides stand still? Other viewers: I recommend you take a look at the story of the game summarized in the published movie's notes.

Thank you very much ! I think I took too much time to waiting the dog . I will try it again and again to make it shorter . Because it's walking routes is random , the glitch may occur earier . It needs more attempts .
