How long would it take a TASed human to get laid? You would basicly luck manipulate the right girl to appear in front of you and then you would say the precisely right words. I wonder what those words would be... and how long it would take.

There's a subtle difference between "published movies must have an encode on TVC" and "publications must have a link to a TVC encode". We have made exceptions for the latter for some instances, like SM64 runs and OoT runs where the authors prefer having the publication link to their YouTube encode.
Ohh that makes sense, thank you for clarifying Are the TVC encodes still tied to the site in those cases, i.e. the title and description are still updated?

Actually, afaik whether this bug crashes the game or not relies on the hardware, and clearly the hardware between and N64 and a Wii are far different Whoops, misread

It is your opinion, but I highly doubt it will happen as I don't think even all of our current encoders understands all of the script and/or parameters used in x264.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I've been reading up on x264 settings and avisynth recently. The only big things I don't understand yet are deblink and blinkmask

Bump Also, I accidentally deleted a831bffab0395a853af27f76b7ff21b3 from the directory I was uploading from, and apparently tvc manager doesn't retry when that happens EDIT: Oh, nvm, I guess when the hash is the same a new upload overwrites the old one. Neat

Ok. I got a good idea. From now on, any submissions I submit, I will encode them before submitting and when the YouTube encode is at good enough standards, I will send the link to the publisher so he/she can use those links as part of the publication.
Sorry, that's not happening

I'm not sure why you're getting so fussed up about word choice, especially when it's about an option which has nothing to do with emulation Anyway, imo it wouldn't hurt to at least use "0x00" instead of "Oxoo" so people don't confuse the option for showing an animal from a Doctor Seuss book or something.

According to a google search, a monetized video nets $2.50 USD per thousand views. Your 40k view TAS would get you $100, which is no doubt far less than if you worked one hour for minimum wage for every hour you TASed, and that's if you don't split it between you and Dooty EDIT: Shit I forgot google is yt EDIT EDIT: Oh you didn't work on that 40k TAS, lolwhoops. W/e, the point stands

That's a bit mean. I can still produce high quality Abe encodes after all. All I wanted to do in the first place was any runs that were made my me, publish them to my own YouTube channel and monetise them so I can earn money from all the TASing that me and Dooty have done. Basically a bit like when Sonicpacker uploaded the Mario 64 120 star run.
Having dozens of questions and then making the same mistake multiple times is starting to wear on people. When you cause problems for yourself every step of the way, is that not a sign that encoding isn't quite your strong suit? Friendly advice, be easier on yourself and drop encoding. There are surely other things you are much better at, and that's where your time and effort would better be spent. Besides, if all you want out of encoding is the money, there are many more efficient ways of getting it than through monetized video game speedruns

Wait, what's the difference between lossless and lossy? Are they the same?
Lossless means the recording matches the emulator output exactly. Lossy means it is compressed, making the file size much smaller than with lossless, but at the cost of being slightly different from the emulator output.

Assuming you aren't TASing them, you could try mGBA. It is missing some TAS tools atm, but its goal is to be a much more accurate core than VBA

I had the same issue on a previous script, and iirc for some reason when the timecodes were made it was trying to save them to some directory in the F drive, even though I encode off of my D drive, and I don't even have an F drive

For some reason, while encoding TTYD, both downloadables produced sound files which were twice as long as they should be, with silence in the first half and the correct audio in the second half. Oddly enough, the video is fine (at least for 10bit; 512 isn't done yet), and the YT encode's audio is unaffected I've fixed my audio encodes, but it was very hacky, and I have no idea what the underlying problem could be
Found the issue. I modified my avs's logo script (apparently just after my YT encode; I thought it was before), and it turns out I forgot to use ++ instead of + when splicing the logo and dump together

For flash, YT won't ever support 60 FPS (so I've heard), so you need to force HTML 5 player to get 60 FPS at all.
:? I read the opposite in this thread

OK, so with the Flash player, you're pretty much guaranteed to get 60 fps video at 720p+ (provided you have hardware acceleration enabled) (tested in Firefox 34.0.5 with the Flash player, and I got 60 FPS video at 720p in both cases).

60fps HD encodes now can be watched from movie modules and discussion threads (wiki modules will follow soon). To watch them you need Google Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer 11. See details here.
I never got FF 35.0.1 to work at all. Flash player, hardware acceleration enabled, no other tabs open. Chrome works fine

Don't you know it's the day he got his license? Of course it's memorable (for him). If you don't remember the day you got your license (perhaps because you don't have one), think of it like remembering your wedding day, or when your firstborn took his/her first steps.
I was more referring to the quote than that. I understand getting a license is a big deal (even if it wasn't for me personally)

@GoddessMaria: Since you apparently missed this in IRC, I'll leave this here You don't have to fill out the title or description, you can just leave them as todo. They are both automatically filled out once te encodes are linked to the movie. The tags are wrong; semicolons do not split tags, commas do. As a result, YT is reading yt:stretch=4:3;tasvideos as one tag, so the AR is not corrected. They can be fixed by using SystemTVCControl EDIT: Oh, and click update on SystemTVCControl to update the video itself
