Never considered that Jimmie's published run of this game could be improved. You did a great work on both versions of Toy Story! Yes vote.

I watched the current TAS and found this game interesting (I never played this game before). So, I tested a bit (through the TAS), and noted that you can move a bit while waiting some frames for each attack: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1239648865/lagoon-timesaver.smv EDIT: Snes9x 1.43 v18 used.

I agree with grassini. Nice work. Since most of this run resembles that nicovideo's run (I watched a while ago), the last battles of this game (thanks of a "certain" glitch) were surprising. Yes vote

I watched the published run recently, and found this game pretty good and entertaining. Now, watching your new run, liked how you managed to improve so much on the first levels! Yes vote.

Though I watched the published run sometimes, I'm surprised how that run was much solid to beat. But now, another dega run bites dust! Yes vote. My net speed slowed so much on the last 2 weeks, so I can't provide an encode :(

Also, some wrong description on the publication of this new run: "Sami helps Mike destroy the enemies with tool-assisted precision and finishing the game in a little over an hour. If you're looking for action with Sherlock Holmes and in Transylvania, look no further than this." "Sami" must be changed to "Ferret Warlord" while "in a little over an hour" to "less than an hour". Other thing: Since the "void walk" glitch was used several times for shortcuts, "heavy glitch abuse" tag is missing in the publication.

Well, the last boss is a hell to optimize (weeks TASing this than the entire run)! After lots lots lots of tries, I managed to improve balrog battle a lot than the previous full run (aka = "WIP 5"). Movie file: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/46606115976347905 (not final version yet) 1014 frames saved than the last WIP, 22621 frames ahead of published run (ignoring emulation differences) 139899 rerecords, and more optimizations on stage 1 (some different damage route), stage 4 (much lag reduction during the way to pick "Abel's Charm", and return), and stage 5 (character route change). Also I discovered that the "multi-hit glitch" (used on both worms) also works hitting dragon balrog's head! Have no idea why it works by only using a second player.

I forgot to mention before, but there are differences between JP version and US version?

Void walking also adds a nice touch to the run.
And makes StarTropics II even more better to watch than the first game (although I like both games).

Accurracy is the main reason why I prefer (and like) this BizHawk emulator ; ) You are great with these cores! Good job.

Since nobody has provided an encode yet, I decided to try to encode. Because of 15-minute limit, I uploaded in 5 parts: Part 1/5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3lvJwqa2wg Part 2/5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hj9djBy-J4s Part 3/5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKpDhJo44Cg Part 4/5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UglMp6Yq6o Part 5/5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjlmDBkpx2w

I watched your TAS yesterday, and I'll say again: This hack is well suited for a sonic hack game (and even more for a SegaCD game). Also it's cool to hear songs of other genesis games between stages, like Sonic 3D Blast and Michael Jackson's Moonwalker. Yes vote.

your movie is also 24655 frames long, didn't you forgot to remove 1 frame somewhere?
Checked this and found what has occurred: you saved 3 frames on P2-3 (that vertical autoscroller) by dying earlier due of different spawn position. And later, on P2-boss, that lag wasn't included, because no longer saves time because of "frame rule" before 3-1 (again).

Wow! Finally this is done! I'll watch this run on emulator. P.S: I managed to sync your last WIP, removing a frame during the initial frames, and synched without problem! I'll now try to sync the full run to the lastest version. Later I'll comment about your run. ;) EDIT: Removed 1 frame during power-on, and synched again without problem, even on the lastest version of BizHawk! Also, not only you did a great work but also the boss rush of chapter 9 was impressive. Yes vote. Probably I'll return to "game end glitch" of this game after I'll finish Cadash (which is another game in the First 500 list).

- "entering 3 frames later results on a earlier loading to the next "scene"" -> hmm hmm.. are you sure about this? I can only jump 6773rd next time and its slower
Sometimes I didn't explain with more details. Well, in this case, the earliest frame possible he can enter the portal is frame 6767 (6766 in NesHawk). But by entering at frame 6770 (6769 in NesHawk - now 3 frames later), for some reason the screen fades out much earlier than most of other frames.

portal - after the 2-3 lag frames, 0x5E9 == 127, decreases 1 per frame, turns to 64 instead of 0 (fade in and portal drawn), 61, 49, 37 (every 12nd frame) is the "fast portal trick". Rolls back to 64 if not entered in.
Since I only tested this trick a bit, thanks for the explanation (and for the address).

Video encoding stops abruptly though, one is left wondering what happens next. Why stop here. Even if it returns to the title screen, the fact would have been good to see in the video.
Fixed. EDIT: I forgot to mention before, but if someone wonders about "that" noise on tittle screen, probably it's an emulation bug.

Oh! I have watched that published run before but forgot an important note on the submission i've found, according for nesrocks: "its possible to skip about 40 frames on every exit by jumping on it at the exact frame (as opposed to enterring it on the earliest frame possible)" So, we still can improve our run. I'll fix these portals much later. EDIT: entering 3 frames later results on a earlier loading to the next "scene". I'll post a revised run later - now using your WIP. ;) EDIT 2: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1676383926/2010StreetFighter-v5.bk2 (235 frames faster) With this improvement, I was able to break that "frame rule" before 3-1 by adding that lag frame of P2 boss, again. But, I lost some frames on a few stages due of different "frame rule" and different loading enemy pattern (so I paused and unpaused on 2-2 to fix this, while on 4-2 i wasn't able). Some bad luck.

I don't have any particular improvement idea. What about you?
Unfortunately nope. Probably there's no way to beat a "frame rule" of some stages, isn't?

New version: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/706011210/2010StreetFighter-v4.bk2 (25 frames faster than my previous version). I'll post an encode later. EDIT - Encode done: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dC8dpqX8Ckg I included the improvements of lastest MESHUGGAH's WIP.

removing 1 lag frame at P2 boss introduces 3 extra frames right after pause glitch, delaying the "fade to black" effect.
I tried this, but were nullified due of a "frame rule" before 3-1. So I still avoided that lag.

Yes it should sync on other versions but only NesHawk core. And 40fps is uncomfortable. I think my movie will sync by removing 1 frame in the beginning, maybe this occurs later as well.
I imported your movie to Bizhawk, removed that frame, and synched without problems. Well, 40 fps is also uncomfortable for me. That's why I decided to use TAStudio on 2.2 version (because still runs at normal FPS, although I also uses 2.2.1 version). I managed to save more frames on my run. I'll edit this post later. EDIT: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1933785693/2010StreetFighter-v3.bk2 (47 frames saved than my previous version) Notes: - I used your 1-1 input (so I added you as a co-author), not only saving 2 frames but saved (for some reason) some frames at beginning of some levels. - I managed to remove a lag of 3-boss, but still difficulty to remove more frames. So I'll out this level. - Thanks of your "faster walljump trick", I managed to save more frames on 5-1, as well as removing those lag frames. Now 5-1 is lagless. EDIT 2: I don't know if there are more paths to improve (except 3-boss).

Tried to watch your movie but it only syncs on NesHawk, so I just checked your 1st level is a bit faster. I will stick with fceux for the much more FPS. edit: latest usermovie with details User movie #46050206845626622, I also updated my previous post in this thread.
Well, although my movie is from NesHawk 2.2.2 version (but runs slower for me), I forgot to mention that also runs without problems on previous versions (I tested 2.2 and 2.2.1 at least). Nice new timesavers. Lag is tough to optimize, but I'll try to find more small optimizations.
