Finally someone made a TAS of the Genesis version. Great job!

Thanks for the encode Dimon12321. Glad to see an improvement for 1 player category. Nice job finding out about the instant death command and reviving characters through a different method rather than the slot machine minigame seen on the current 2 players category. I wonder how much time you could improve that run by implementing both finds. At the end of this encode, seems you forgot (again) to add some extra "A" presses to get to the credits. Meanwhile, yes vote and goodbye all remaining 2004 runs.

I'm not sure why I didn't test it before, but thanks for pointing it out! Simply changing B button to left button on the same frame you can regain control. Here's the movie file: https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638037673795770956 This improvement saves 8 frames indeed, and I exited select menu only a frame earlier.

I guess this idea doesn't work. I tried it a few times, but I keep getting a collision with the gate. I did try it on emulator with keyboard, so there was some input lag. But I don't think I'll be able to do anything different on console with controller. Challenger, have you tried this? Is it possible to make this sprite do a standing jump through a gate, like the jump we did through the wall in Level 16?
Seems this idea won't work at all. Sorry for not answering this question before.

You forgot to remove Kendo Rage too, since the published run was obsoleted months ago. Meanwhile, good luck with the next project ;)

Always cool to see an improvement for this game, and as adelikat said, this run was really entertaining. I'm glad the scroll glitch works in this game too, and good thing this glitch is actually useful (at least once) for this category. That Dracula fight was great. Also nice job with the first level - that item drop manipulation was clever. Yes vote for me!

Great work solving a mystery through the power of Jaffar bot and achieving this new warp, as well as finding more optimizations for this game. Yes vote.

Glad to see a "100%" TAS of this game! That was entertaining from the start until the end. The any% run was already broken, but the new category shows much more crazy stuff (and new glitches) this time - even the mushroom turns out very useful for this TAS. Excellent work and Yes vote.

Another work by eien86. Your bot never ceases to amaze me! Even racing games the bot can optimize well too, so great job. Yes vote for sure.

During my work on pacifist tas, I discovered an possible improvement for dracula phase 1 that works on any% run too. Probably I'll spend some days testing the entire dracula battle again, but once finishing it, I'll send a new movie file ;)
Well, I lost some motivation while working on this game again, but now here's the updated movie file at last: https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/637991222174805377 About the improvement I've mentioned before: pausing the game during dracula phase 1 affect both his positioning and pattern, but after finishing this TAS I found out it's actually possible to manipulate a faster pattern for cycle 2 without messing up his positioning by pausing as soon as he respawns - in "ghost" state. This pause strat saves 4 frames. After implementing it, I still discovered two more improvements for this game, gaining 3 frames and 1 frame, respectively. So 8 frames were gained at the end. I also found an possible timesaver for dracula phase 2 (5 frames), but the timing between hits/boomerang throws/cookie monster manipulation doesn't collaborate well, ruining my idea :\

Great job improving that very old "no-level-select" TAS from 2004. Clever use of hidden fairies and despawning some turrets. What a very unexpected and hilarious way to finish this game. This new glitch is pretty neat! Yes vote.

Glad to finally see a new any% TAS of this game! The gameplay now looks much more impressive with those optimized bomb tricks (including bomb-stairs) present on 100% TAS too ;) And nice new tricks and finds. I laughed my ass off seeing the second phase of the final battle being skipped completely (that was clever) and that "fusion cutscene" now looks anticlimatic for me xD Great yes vote.

Too bad this game lags so much (and even more on more accurate emulators), but at least the new level 1 improvement saved this TAS :) Nice work and yes vote.

How is it going so far?
I managed to gain 7 frames for now, but I'm also testing another extra scroll glitch for dracula phase 2 I didn't realize before submitting this run, though the current strategy requires adjustments.

Wow that was the first Sonic game I've played in my life, and I'm really glad to see this TAS. Great work and yes vote :) I don't know if you're aware, but there's an interesting glitch at 1:35 of this video: Link to video This glitch works with every spring, and it's also possible to clip into walls if you apply this pause glitch with that diagonal spring (at 0:24 of the encode video) from Leaf Forest 1, though I'm not sure if this glitch can be really useful for this TAS.

Wow the bot even manages to optimize very tricky situations such as that infamous final boss fight! Great job optimizing it by over 300 frames, and the fight looks so solid this time. Yes vote.

I didn't expect to see another improvement for this game. The gameplay looks even more polished with those new finds, including the last stage. Yes vote.

EDIT: Updated Console Verification Video: Link to video I also looked into the pacifist run, but it desyncs in the latest BizHawk version.
Yeah and the old runs of this game that uses this emulator really desyncs in the lastest version too. Glad you managed to run this new any% TAS on console :) Speaking of pacifist TAS, I'm aware the current run can be improvable with the new scroll glitch method, so we are working on a new TAS of this category too.

Finally the long awaited pacifist TAS was finished after all those years. Great job bruteforcing Act VI without needing for replenish health at all, and Enemy Spawn Delay is pretty insane. Yes vote, and my screenshot suggestion is the second one.

Wow those new tricks are pretty impressive! Glad to see how zipping is truly effective too. Like the previous run, this game has plenty of optimizations, insane arrow gas usage as well as killing lots of enemies without wasting time. This is star content to me and the new TAS still has the same energy as before : ) Yes vote.
