You can play older movies on newer ZSNES versions. However because of timing differences you may notice desync issues when running a movie from one version in another.

Note the video I just published is without "Sonic Cam". Bisqwit said he'll publish a "Sonic Cam" AVI later.

We're improving. I've made a bunch of movies with the new ZSNES support. Some games I've done 20 minute runs without a single desync. Other seem to desync every 5 minutes. While others still seem to desync occasionly, but it's a bit random when. Although even when it desynced, I just started recording again from right before the desync. However it is annoying, and we're working on it.

Okay I just got in my old hard drive with all my movie generation stuff in my new PC. I'll look into encoding this tommorow hopefully.

No problem. And I changed the title for you.

Perhaps: Please seed the following movies Torrents not downloading No seeders for the following torrents Pick one. Bandwidth refers to frequencies used in the line, has no direct relation to speed, transfer rate, amount of data being transfered or anything like that. The misconception of meaning is that the larger the bandwidth in a cable, generally the theoretical transfer rate per time unit is faster. However saying "this torrent has no bandwidth" doesn't make any sense at all. In the same essence, a phrase like "You got 2TB of bandwidth" also doesn't make much sense without some sort of quantification.

Someone brought something to my attention on IRC which I must share. So if Bisqwit is The Chancellor we have to agree with him, but if we agree with him, that means he's not The Chancellor (based on post #85621), in which case we don't have to agree with him, so we can then procede to make him The Chancellor so then... Arrrrggghhhh *Brain Explodes*

Well if he's the Chancellor, we can then interview him, and then say we interviewed The Chancellor. And when some lowly admin from another site tells us we should do X or Y, we can out veto him with the law of The Chancellor. And as such, since The Chancellor has dubbed these videos tasvidoes (see URL), it is now official, only The Overlord outranks The Chancellor :D

Yes, but what do you know from these things? Let's hear from the knowledgeable masses here for their correct opinion.

I was thinking our Coder/Ninja/Admin needs a new title to really show his worth to us. Thus I want to bestow on him the following title: The Benevolent Finnish Chancellor of TASVideos for Life I think this should be accepted based on this precedent. What do you think? Discuss!

I'm considering encoding this movie when I get my new PC encoding setup back online.

Read the discussion on it, apparently it's only for old versions.

It's "Bisqwit", our Finnish Chancellor is not something which sounds like a tasty pastry which belongs in the cookie section.

i have done this before with a metroid one... it worked in sections... every few seconds the movie cracked up and i had to fast forward like 4 seeconds till it returned to normal... it did this every 20 seconds approx.
But you weren't using nget to download were you? I watched Metroid Zero Mission video by doing this, and no issues.

Yes as Burning Death said you probably have something wrong with your client settings, Mega Man 4 video was released recently, and as of this posting has 20+ seeds. BTW franpa, since I know you use zget which bundles nget, if you want to get Mega Man 5 really fast, open a command prompt, goto your zget directory and enter:
nget http://www.yuko2ch.net/rockman/megaman5-tas-baxter.avi http://www.archive.org/download/megaman5-tas-baxter/megaman5-tas-baxter.avi
Edit: BTW, if you use nget to download a movie, and you're getting the download fast enough (meaning it's going to finish downloading a bit faster then the length of the video, and you give it a couple of seconds head start), you should be able to watch it while it's downloading if you use mplayer or another capable media player.

Bandwidth is usually used in the wrong sense, but it's definitly used way wrong here :P The site uses seeding scripts that seeds the most needed files. You can see here what needs the most seeding: http://tasvideos.org/Helping.html As you move up in the queue you will get the video, but you may have to wait.

I'd be using this if not for the restrictions on avatar size here: (hint: reload the page) Yes, PHP is cool! And Bisqwit, nice job pulling a new trick over the old random image one that some of us use.

Qlex: effort would be best directed at making one preview movie, and we put it on the frontpage.

15 second clips is quite annoying, and we'd have to generate such a clip for every size video we have. Being that I encode gameboy movies, that's my main concern, I really don't see how descriptive you can get in such a small resolution.

Well it makes sense to have a video explaining the site, with some cool clips. But putting a whole explanation at the beginning of every video is annoying, and adds unneeded bloat.

It happens many times that a player will save a state and immediately wish they hadn't, and desire to recover the state they just overwrote. If you store the most recently overwritten state, you can give us limited "undo" capabilities. I don't even think this is implemented in any of our emulators to date, but it seems incredibly simple to do and would likely be appreciated.
It's implemented in ZSNES to some degree.
