We are down to 2! I have WIPs of Solomon's Key and Bubble bobble if anyone is interesting in contributing.

It isn't terribly entertaining but it is nice. The TAS demonstrates some nice TAS tricks and it comes off as well executed. This gets a yes vote from me.

Seems like an ok game for TASing. I'd rate this movie about a 5.8 in entertainment, .3 of it coming solely from the relaxing mood the music puts me in :) You have my yes vote.

paul_t has done some great things with improving emulation of yabuase. Most of this is better accuracy of graphics, but as a side effect it probably has increased game compatibility. I'll try to make a binary of the latest SVN and make it available for download. Maybe the game works with it.

Great investigating Tiger! The results though aren't very encouraging. THere are basically 3 reasons for desync: bad movie code, problems with savestate code, and lack of emulator determinacy. 3 is the worst but your tests hint at that possibility :( For your tests make sure ALL speed hacks are turned off. Also, turn off any multicore settings. Maybe that will improve things.

Honestly, I still don't know the root cause. But I found behavior that would cause it every time and a (very hacky) fix that causes it to never happen. As far as I can tell, the issue is fixed. However, if you do experience any similar bug behavior, please let me know.

Hmm, are you insinuating something? ;) If it wasn't for the great amount of randomness in Solomon's Key, I'd be more motivated to work on it. Well, I might pick it up again sometime, but I have other stuff going on right now. Although I do agree that the day when all Famtasia runs have been obsoleted will indeed be a day of great rejoice.
I'm implying that your are the perfect man for the job. Solomon's key is exactly the type of game you do well! If you get going on it, I'll promise to go hardcore on bubble bobble :)

Me and Tompa (and a few others) have been working on bubble bubble slowly for awhile now. We are currently on level 52. I started solomon's key, however, it is a lot less fun than I thought it would be. I'm hoping someone (Randil) works on it.

I realize this may sound silly, but would it be possible to compare times by calculating frames in the .avi-file for the old run? I remember doing that when I did my first Solstice run (the published run was an .fmv at the time), and it actually worked fairly well. I know BSPlayer comes with a frame counter and frame advance, but I guess a lot of other media players do as well.
That is what I did. I used VDub to advance frame by frame through the avi. It seemed to be largely accurate. However, I don't know that it was 100% accurate so I took calculations with a bit of skepticism. Also yeah, Bag did a great job with his movie especially given the shortcomings of famtasia.

FCEUX 2.1.2 released. This release has a number of new features relevant to TASVideos including movie support for FDS disk switching. In addition, the Win32 port has several new dialog tools such Ram Search, Ram Watch, and a Lua console window ported from the GENS emulator. Much thanks to gocha, the newest FCEUX developer for the porting of these tools. Discussion of this release Full changelog & downloads

FCEUX 2.1.2 released direct download Lots of good changes for the TAS community in this one including:
Ability to record and play back FDS disk switching! Lua features integrated into FCEUX so no need for 20 .dll files. (Win32) Replay dialog displays the movie time matches tasvideos.org's time (using ~60.1, ~50.1 instead of 60 & 50). Ram Search and Ram Watch dialogs imported from GENS. Memory watch and cheat search are still available but these new dialogs offer far more features. Lua Script window ported from GENS Annoying directory overrides bug fixed
In addition, the New PPU is now a togglable item (Windows users: config > ppu > new ppu). It should work with nearly all games (please let me know if any fail!). The new PPU offers increased accuracy but changes timing. Old PPU should be used for watching older movies but New PPU is recommended for new TAS movies. Full changelog Also, thanks to our newest team member gocha. Most of the TAS related additions were due to him.

As a bug report, that is lol :D
Some documentation for the TAS features would be appreciated, I found most of them by accident. :P
Well, to document them requires somebody to figure this stuff out. Mind sharing the features you figured out? Also, game compatiblity is basically irrelevant here. There is a lot of work to be done with PCSX2 in that department but that is an issue for the PCSX2 team. Did you test the TAS features? If so, did your movies sync? These are the kinds of issues we need to deal with. IF we get rerecording solid we can easily port it to newer versions of PCSX2.

Honestly, I think this one is long overdue. Baxter has now been promoted to the rank of Judge. He is a very experienced TASer with a reputation for quality, known for good and fair comments for new submissions, and a level of respect among the TAS community. I'm glad he is a part of the judging team :)

So if I'm finding the run acceptable based on a cut version I should automatically find it unacceptable based on the uncut one? You're probably constructing this argument wrong. What I think you wanted to say is "if you only find the movie acceptable when you're watching the cut version, it can't be counted as a yes vote".
Yes this, apologies for not making it clear.

I got a copy of acmlm's code and made a project for it: http://code.google.com/p/pcsx2-rr/ However, surprisingly, it has failed to stir up any interest :(

It does not record FDS disk activity. However, that has been fixed already and will be in the 2.1.2 release that will happen soon.

I vote no. The trading an item for a profit is kind of a funny oversight. However, every scene in this TAS is boring. Driving, going up 20 flights of stairs, and a boss fight that wasn't impressive at all.

Cafe - uber boring Auto-scrolling - boring but had glitching that made it a bit neat for a few minutes. Killing all enemies including those that would normally be impossible due to being in yards was cool but not all that great. Very repetitive, mostly auto-scrolling, the rest being repetitive tasks, and oh yeah, I hate this game. Thanks to flygon for the DM link. Even more thanks for putting the Shadow of the Beast soundtrack on accident so I didn't have to listen to this games music. (diarrhea + ear, etc). So yeah, I gotta go with no on this one.

If a movie needs a lua script to remove boring content, that sounds like a good candidate for rejection, not special modification.
The main issue in this case are the special stages: they comprise about half the run's length (some 25-27 minutes all told), and they are boring no matter what is done to make them fun. However, there is nothing that can be done about it other than not doing a 100% run... which is a goal of the run, hence cannot be done in this case.
Well, this isn't a good argument for the boringness though. We don't have to put up with something just because it is part of the goal choice. Because we don't have to put up with it at all. However, that wasn't really my point but instead that the yes vote for the cut versions should instead be no votes.
