Hi. I've stumbled upon this video, and vaguely remembered hearing this music before. I'm not exactly certain if it was from a game, but if so, can anyone please tell me what game was it?
Hi jlun2! The game you are looking for is called Mega Man Network Transmission. Why the heck am I talking to myself?

Why not publish it? Desert Bus is somewhat popular. This should help draw people to the site. Yes vote for publication (I suppose the judge decides where it goes). The only question is how anyone would ever encode this, especially in an acceptable quality and fitting within video site time and file size limits.
Why 1000 hours? Infact, shouldn't the run end as soon as you get max score of 99?

Please replace the run with this: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/2270152456726957 I have evidence that this is faster, despite the longer frame count due to triggering the "Begin Chapter" 10 VI's faster by not letting the camera move infront of spiderman. PM for the synced version of this run to compare it with the above wip. Edit: Since I can't get the debug mode trick to work, I did this without it. Edit 2: I messed up; the input would desync. rog, can you please edit the current input file so that the camera doesn't turn on the roof top before the 3rd chapter message?

so we have the Vault And I would like to put in some kind of clause that suggests a minimum amount of "TAS skill" if the wording can be clear enough (I want to minimize subjectiveness for this tier). So should there be a minimum clause? And should we draw the line below or above this submission? Discuss!
But if there's a minimum amount of TAS skills needed, wouldn't that mean alot of atari runs be rejected? Since TASing most atari games is very simple.

Unrejected, huh? I'll see if it syncs in the lastest dolphin revision and try to improve it.

I definitely am looking for some discussion here. Even for a the Vault tier, where game choice is not an issue. Is this still something that should be published? If not, why? What about the requirements could be changed to clearly draw a line between then and "more worthy" game choices? I hope to flesh out some clarification based on the discussion ehre.
How many levels are there? Does this game ever end?

So this has been unrejected and considered for the Vault tier. I find this game to be a good fringe case for the vault requirements. Primarily the "must be clearly a game". What I mean is, how official should these games be? This is a pretty amateur job, with no QA thus easily exploited. Usually when we think of games we think of official commercial games?
If this gets accepted, please replace it with this WIP, that completes Syobon Action in 1.4 seconds.

Wow, nice to know that the community that I've felt a part of for 6+ years labels me as not to be taken seriously. I was under the impression that people are allowed to have their own opinions, and most importantly preferences about what they find entertaining, but I guess that's not the case. Go on and make whatever arguments you want and slander me and take what I've said out of context and try and make me look bad, but I'm not the one who first blew it out of proportion. It's just sad that what drew me to this site is a host of intelligent people trying to make entertaining movies that pushed the boundaries, and after spending years trying to contribute to that effort I'm now being attacked for sharing an opinion about console preference.
You shouldn't really take everything written on the internet too seriously. Since some people like to piss off others because.....I don't know? Maybe because they are sadistic can? :/

Well, for me neither of RPGs is interesting at all, but that's just me. Also, you linked only one "Glitched" run. If all Glitched runs go to Demo, I see no problem in their main branches going to Vault.
All the runs listed uses game breaking glitches to drastically shorten a long game into 5 - 10 minutes or so. Anyway, why can't they go to the vault? Even though you think it's entertaining (no comment), this isn't FeosVidoes. Where I got the above idea:
A gamebreaking run CAN NOT go to vault because it is still awesome, a moon-worthy for me.

We already discussed Demo/Vault borderline.
Actually, I'm referring to how you think a gamebreaking run must be entertaining:

Yea, so you think movies where you do the same thing repeatedly for 10+ minutes or go out of bounds making you stare at an empty room is awesome? Well, ratings say otherwise.

Wait, all gamebreaking runs? Well, these gamebreaking movies are boring as heck. I rather have them in the vault.

IL's are possible in almost every type of game. The best idea would be to only have separate IL-movies in cases where the fastest way involves a different strategy than the full game run. I could also imagine a single movie that does every level of a racing game as fast as possible.
So yea, a TAS of pretty much everything. Is that really needed? If a game had a huge amount of levels, there would be a ton of "mini" TASes submitted then...

Theres one more thing I forgot to mention: What about IL's? With the current rules, things like time-trials in racing games are impossible to publish.
What's "IL"? Also, I don't think we should have a run for EVERYTHING. A run of every game is already alot.

Did I forget to mention it's for Demo tier? Anything arbitrary may potentially go there, we just need to set the border between this and rejection.
I know, but that means I could just script a bot in lua, have it complete a mini-game, and submit the result here.

This too.
I think runs should at least complete the (main) game, otherwise there would be loads of categories for games with many minigames.

You mean like these two? The botted versions are the only versions, which happens to be the fastest.

My thoughts, with some wording fixes. Add a Demo tier for runs done by bots, hacks, multitases and such stuff.
About the botted runs, some runs like that glitched Megaman run for the NES relies heavily on bots. It would be strange to see it listed in "Demos" instead of the vault/stars. Oh, and this also applies to games that rely heavily on luck, like the wizardry games for the Nes.

So...does graphical remakes like Super Mario Advanced series count as separate games? Also, does the "hardest difficulty" rule still apply?

If a vault movie gets the same rating the non-vault one has, placing the former in vault must be revised.
You can't really trust ratings, since (some) people can simply put 10/10 on anything that interest them.
