Oooo. Well that was fun. Was there any luck manipulation involved with getting the shortest puzzles / puzzles with the letters closest to each other?

Sorry about that, I've uploaded a newly updated 7z file to a sharing site that *supposedly* won't delete the file for 25 days. 6 new movies in the update.

Since we *obviously* all want to be switching between an emulator and a web browser while watching a movie. You're missing the point entirely, the English isn't important because of the super-duper plot (OMG are they really going to try to kill our hero? NOOO), it's there for the viewer to have something to do during the waiting time. The waiting times of video games are the boring parts, and people today have short attention spans, so a little reading in between action keeps the brain occupied. Having unknown symbols that we (non-Japanese speaking people) don't understand creates discontinuity in the movie that makes it worse to watch.

Please stop yelling, and try to realize that this game will not pique the interest of people because it has to do with a cartoon character many of us haven't thought about since we were 5. The game is probably as interesting as McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure for Genesis

Both the links on both the threads have worked for me, and I watched it all the way through, although near the end it got repetitive. I don't think it would make a very good TAS though, because as the runner showed it can be done once you know all the secret run stoppers, which a TAS would skip. BTW, can we get these two threads merged? I don't see the point on having two for the exact same movie for an impossible to find hack that probably wouldn't be acceptable on this site anyway :-P

Phil, you may want to let Genisto, Feitclub, and ciderprojekt speak for themselves about the issue, instead of putting words in their mouths. Everyone can change their mind over time, especially when presented with new evidence and facts, and this specific issue hasn't been addressed in any other specific thread.

I'm one of the people who has never seen the Star Wars movies (other than bits and pieces). But I watched this and was pleasantly surprised. It had different points of view, nice platforming, and overall was entertaining. Plus it's an improvement, so yes.

Long cutscenes make this somewhat boring to watch, and even though the routes look good I'm not sure if they're optimal. Although frame shaving for this game wouldn't help much, it just wasn't entertaining (or varied) enough. Sorry, voting no.

Sounds good. I've become a big fan of working with Gens, and know the games the best (out of all the othe systems), since it's the only 16bit (or less) console I owned, so I know I'll appreciate a project like this if it gets done. I'll certainly be willing to help out a little bit if you'd like.

Here's a 7z-ed text file of the 5871 known Genesis ROMs. A lot of the included files are bad dumps, translations, hacks, etc, so there's probably only around 1500 titles we'd be interested in. http://www.sendspace.com/file/2eynj4

In the submission text Bisqwit referred to, Feitclub wrote: "It's up to you whether or not you want to replace my first time attack with this one, or list this separately as a different game. Personally, I would replace it (as this run is faster) but leave the Bionic Commando FMV available for download." Although he listed differences in the games, even back then they were not listed as better or worse, just different. However he did bring up the only two justifiable options, I think. Either replace the older movie, as this run is faster, or list this separately as a different game. If people really like seeing the Nazi references, I see no problems publishing both movies, however for me personally it doesn't make any difference. While the history of video games is interesting, history is meant to be studied, not glanced at during a speedrun as the symbols zip by. My $.02.

Awwww... but don't responses like that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? No? Not even a little bit? Well ok... anyway, keep up the great work! ;)

^^ That reminds me of what some of my 5th grade essays looked like when I got them back from grading... I think my teacher went through a good 15 or 20 red pens that year.

I already love the name.
I created a thread on it a while ago that no one read, probably with good reason. It's a sonic ripoff with a duck who has an electrical cord for a tail. Yes you just read that right. EDIT: Anywho, about the run. I can only imagine how long this would have been if you hadn't so heavily abused bugs, especially the climbing bug. I watched it at school so I couldn't have the sound on and wasn't able to get that part of the movie, and the jerking back and forth between cavemen was horrible at a couple points, but thankfully it wasn't a constant problem. I've never been a huge fan of watching puzzle runs, but this one has enough action and humorous moments to keep it entertaining. So... strong meh or weak yes.... umm... I'll give it a weak yes.

I can save you the trouble of finding one, there's one here SNES is one of the most stable and fully functioning emulators for macs I've found, I remember playing through Chronotrigger a lot on my old iBook back in high school (over 5 years ago).

So much quality progress in so little time leads me to believe that you have either just lost your job or a significant other, and are pouring all of your frustration into this run. However, whatever your motivation is, keep at it because the results are fantastic!

It would look like every other crap forum online. I like to think we are above the crap. But if you're really super curious to see, check out zunescene... I"m sure you'll find what you're looking for by randomly clicking a few posts.

Look 6 posts up, there's my WIP for the first 4 stages. I'll probably throw another one out around halfway, then probably keep the last half for submission, unless I need advice or input. But I may WIP it up more often than that if asked.

I know how you feel about authors "owning" runs, but I'm hoping that I can make this series somewhat my own. I don't mean that I should be the only one to run them, but when people think of the games, I hope they think of the runs I've published (similar to how I can't think about Sonic advance without Nitsuja coming to mind, even though he comes to mind for a ton of games). And I agree that the Genesis has had a significant lack of runs, and that was only reinforced when I did my archive project (it has about 75% of the runs the SNES does). I think it will certainly become my platform of choice for future runs.

Wow! Sandland was fabulous! And I really mean it. It was very, very entertaining. I noticed you managed to hit the left bosshand without it opening it's hand while FODA couldn't do it (no offence FODA ;) ). Looking forward for the next WIP.
That stuck out to me too, even though I haven't seen FODAs run in a while. I wonder what needed to be changed.

Very good, though I expected a bit more cheerful results. :D However, you should be able to gain more seconds on open levels (sadly, there aren't many of those in VM2).
I'm not sure what you mean by cheerful, but if you're referring to my "if anyone wants to follw this" comment, I've seen that you and adelikat (and sometimes Upthorn) are about the only two people who really like the V-man, even though both the games are pretty good (1 being better than 2 IMO). And if you meant time saved, the yeah, it is a shame about the lack of open levels to gain time with, because I shaved off another 2 sec. on scene 5. Mike's run was pretty optimized on the first, third, and fourth levels but the queen at the end though will easily take off at least another 5 seconds though, since he didn't know to just hit the brain when he made his run. Anyway, thanks for watching moozooh!
