Well, I want to see this game TASed. There are some goals that are good for TASing (when Dolphin Rerecording is accepted in TASVideos): -Any % -100%

I'd be interested in seeing, and possibly making, some IL TASes of the many challenges this game has (with which I mean time attack and the like) I'm sure Ryuto is interested aswell

I'm playing this game, and it's the best game ever! :D A 100% TAS would be awesome!

I found this trick with my friend when we was glitching this game. It needs much better video than this and I hope someone can make it. I also hope this is useful trick in future TAS runs for this game :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mURWHILGcYs You can clearly see hover almost end of the video!!!

^I've tried the same thing in Time Attack using Carrie, but it didn't seem to work cool that it works with 2P, it gains so little height and it takes so much time that I don't think it will be faster though… maybe with TAS you could somehow chain in some jumps, gaining a lot more height?

I am a speedrunner (non TAS) of Kirby's Epic Yarn [KEY]. A few weeks ago, I happened across a wall clip that was previously unknown. The interesting part is that none of the other runners of this game had encountered any such glitches in the game before - or any major glitches at all. I can reproduce the clip in one very specific location - provided I get the setup right. However, I would like to know more about how/why this happened. If I can understand what's going on, maybe it can be applicable to other locations in the any% run. [EDIT] I know what is going on from my end. That is, i know what controller inputs led up to it, but I do not know what the game's code is doing. Is there someone interested in / willing to help me out? You can message me here or on twitch.tv/Zaleden. Video of the clip is below: http://www.twitch.tv/zaleden/c/3621676 (skip to about 1:26 to get close to the actual clip, rather than watching the entire level)

Can you emulate the game in Dolphin and make a replay showing you doing the clip in that?

Have never used dolphin before. I'm not opposed to it, but I am having difficulty finding an .iso for the game that isn't torrent - I'm not a huge fan of torrents.

And your optical drive isn't one of those drives that is capable of dumping the disc?

If that doesn't work, you could always soft-mod your Wii to install the Homebrew Channel and CleanRip and dump your discs to a flash drive/SD card that way. You can find an explanation for a newbie to all that stuff in the thread where I learned how, starting here.

There's only a few that can. Unless you bought one for this purpose, it almost certainly can't.

Updates: I don't have the disk drive that can work with rawdump, and I don't have an sd card reader to do the homebrew setup. I'm probably the least helpful person ever O.O I'll just come back when I can get dolphin working.... My apologies

I've just watched the clip and it oddly seems like the glitch from SMB where you can go through a block if you jump in the corner

That was my reaction too. The more important part, however, is how can i reproduce it. This clip as it is is pretty worthless for a speedrun because it results in an endless fall. But this is on hold for now until I can get an .iso :/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfkzN0tA-t8 Please excuse the bad audio. I'm new at this. Now that I have dolphin and an iso - let me know what all you need and I'll do my best. I'd like to get to the bottom of this.

Looks good, Kurabupengin. Is there a way to keep from slowing down at 0:48 to make that second jump? Maybe by making the first jump earlier?

I don't think so, there's no other way to break that block and when you throw it, you'll become normal again. Thank you for being interested anyways, it helps me quite a bit!

I would really like to see this TAS happen, but is there a way to TAS the Wii pointer? If so than by all mean keep working on it because your first WIP was awesome, but just remember that the train (I think it was a train) part need the pointer to make the track. PS: Every games that I've TASed for fun didn't need it so it might have been there for quite a while.

Well, according to here, it seems RachelB's TAS input is finally in the main branch, so good luck.

The version that I'm using does support the pointer thing. I have a question though, do the gems have any use in the RTAs of the game or they are pointless in them?

They are pretty useless. I know that in the all levels speedrun there are some cases where you need some of the medals to unlock levels but for the any%, unless there's an exception that I'm not thinking about, they just take time to count at the end. You should take a look at the WR :) Link to video
