9 months bump. Comicalflop told me something about Maxim full-run. I think it's not a simple job, hard to choose a route. The test route I've made, I'm not sure it's the best. I'm working on other game recently, my friend ljffdb2 has made a test run for my route. Looks not bad, just a little sloppy, movement can be improved. It also shows something nice, such as luck manipulating on Death fight. Any opinion?

That test run was.....amazing. There's lots of room for improvement in movement (forgets to dive kick down slopes, towards the end favors all dashing over using sliding, and sometimes spends too much time setting up a whip launch) and some boss fights (doesn't activate a shuriken glitch off the first spin of the shuriken, the first boss didn't need the 2 mirage attacks, has 25 hearts at the end not used), but the overall speed and pace of the run was phenomenal. It proves what I've been saying all along, that such a run would look awesome. I think some save resetting like in the Juste version might save some backtracking, so that might complicate the route a little bit. Man.... really makes me wish I had time to work on this run....

Hm, yes, a high speed run is very nice to watch. Reset game? You forget that can't quick save in a Maxim run. *_*

The filename is a little misleading; he clearly does use one warping glitch; he does that 'backdash through a door' thing. It was a very cool watch, though. With cleanup I'm sure it would be accepted.

There's also using numerous whip launches to go through vertical walls. Wall sinking is not done with the method however. And is the shuriken glitch to be excluded in a "glitchless run"? I like the term "full Maxim run" better than "glitchless maxim run". I did not know you can't save with Maxim. In the route, why does he occassionally go in some save rooms for a brief second then leave (ala the same way that the 100% CotM movie visits a room real quick to get 100% room completion)? This confused me.

He hasn't gone into save rooms, do you mean warp rooms (yellow in map)? Because it needs to explore them, otherwise you can't warp there.

Oh, and I wonder why here Julius looks just as awesome and colorful as he is in AoS... unlike the default sprites. Also, I guess this is a young Julius... he doesn't even have a beard: heheheh

Well, it is a few centuries before he gets to go seal Dracula properly. It's only fair that he age a bit in the interim. Side note: Julius got screwed by age in Dawn of Sorrow. The game takes place one year after Aria of Sorrow, and Julius can't fly, can barely slide, can't run, and generally just mopes around complaining about how old he is. :\

I actually spent most of the time as wossname the mage girl, since her spells are so powerful and her attacks are the only way to heal aside from save rooms. But yeah, Julius gets reserved for bosses where I need the extra range.

One of the authors told me that he couldn't get the sampling rate of Julius's SFX correct, and thus Julius sounded young/girly. I don't know if this issue has been solved.

I'm working on an improvement to zggzdydp's published glitched main quest. I didn't realize that I missed some shortcuts until I completed over 60% of the whole run. Now I'm working on my v2... Microstorage still seems down... EDIT: It's likely to be acheive sub-twelve minutes even with my v1!

That's an interesting route. Consider me intrigued.

I think I saw you do some weird version of the shuriken glitch without using any subweapons? And, you can do it without the dive kick? Also, looks like you can whip launch off corners when facing forwards? How does that work? Interesting new finds and route; however, if the feather is not attained, I don't think this movie will be as entertaining despite being completed sooner; double jump and dive kick makes the game way more kickass. definitely some techniques in here that would apply to the long Maxim run.

ljffdb2 found the trick to use the axe to do the shuriken glitch without using the dive kick: Step 1 - throw an axe at enemy. Step 2 - jump whip the bad guy. Step 3 - whip him again on the ground at one of "the correct frames", which can vary from time to time. It's only possible to use the method in the WIP to whip launch off corner facing forward to the left. I don't know why they designed the game like that. :P

Don't worry, because... And I intend to trade some frames for entertainments. We'll see that soon.

I like how the movie plays all the way through, and just after it ends, you die in 1 hit. lol

Great progress is gained as I found it possible to copy-and-paste the second half of my unfinished v1 and have it synched . Now I've completed over 75% of the run after the hex work! EDIT: It's 140+ seconds faster than the published movie at the same point. EDIT 2: Maybe the last WIP open to the public. I didn't kill those Skull Archers as I desired exactly 14400 EXP points. EDIT 3: Uh, I found something strange: EDIT 4: Done.

There is a published Maxim movie using only two major glitches, multiple-hit and doorway-warp. It might be close to what you are looking for.

I think there is some improvement in the mode MAXIM warps, because I've been watching and some areas would lose several frames or fewer. Not me, but I sense that's true
