I'm agree with adelikat! Surprisingly entertaining! Yes vote. I've never heard about Uzebox until now. Also this run is now a good candidate to Speedy TAS of 2017 (I think).

I forgot to mention that SMS pause trick is not applicable to this game. But, to acess the menu, it's necessary a second controller (Button 1 or Button 2).

Ending input early is cool, but it makes me wonder if any earlier is possible.
Actually, I don't know if could be possible, since I don't know exactly how the pattern works.

While I would have preferred a TAS of the SMS version I can understand why the GG has it's appeal.
There's a SMS version of this game (released only on Brazil), but isn't a much accurate port compared with 'official' SMS games and the GG version.

I watched your run! Loved all the new improvements and shortcuts! Invisible Mickey and preserving speed is completely amazing. Yes vote. EDIT: Oops! I forgot to mention: Despite the rom says USA version, it's actually an Europe ROM! This run worked fine for me.

Liked your work on one of my favorite SNES racing games, but I voted meh for 2 reasons (sorry for this): 1 - You didn't aimed for in-game time instead of real time at the each last lap (expect Silence). 2 - You didn't COMPLETE this game, because there are other races on Queen and King League, respectively. Althrough the expert level is the only way to see the credits, there's a Master level difficulty, which is more harder than expert level.

It's done: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/40035270597139731 Note that I ended input 3-4 hits before of the defeat. I don't know exactly if could be possible to manipulate one more pattern before.

Nice improvements of the published run, HappyLee! Too bad that special flagpole glitch didn't work exactly like the 8-bit version. But the glitch on SNES version is also cool. Nice commentary! I laughed of the ''reporter'' interviewing a ''surviving turtle of 7-1'' while the other levels were devasted. So, It's that ''surprise'' that you were working during some months. :p Also, good luck with your future!

Last WIP: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/39992764894075725 Encode: Link to video Areas E & F finished. 40+ second ahead of the published run. This run is almost done but I have a bad news: I noted much later on this run that pausing this game on area selection, for some unknown reason, is a little faster than pausing during the areas. Unfortunately the only way to fix this, is redoing this run from scratch, because editing input, affects the RNG. EDIT: Fixed the pause after dies to back to the entrance of area c, but the first pause wasn't fixed because it ruined the area c boss pattern.

Last WIP (Only encode): Link to video Blue Marine Zone finished! The gameplay is slower in the water. That's why some (or more) paths looks sloppy. But it's actually optimized.

In the quest to obsolete Dega movies, I decided to improve the published run. WIP: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/39879655303137427 NOTE: SMS USA BIOS (Version 1.3) is required to play on emulator. Encode: Link to video Area C finished! Improvements: - New route (Also a deathwarp). - Better optimization. - Improved boss fight. A lot of time saved at the published run, mainly because of new route.[/video]

Glad to see more TASers interessed to obsolete that Dega movies! I'm working on a improvement of Cyborg Hunter. On Wonderboy, there's a extra level that isn't present on the published TAS. It requires a long time to get the extra level. I decided to work on this game on November or December 2017. Kenseiden is easy to resync on BizHawk, and I have a RAM Watch of this game (almost complete). After finished Ninja Gaiden, I tried to work on Sonic 2, but because of lags and that timer, I gave up. But I have a WIP. ;) EDIT: I didn't aware about that bootup. I'll redo that Cyborg Hunter run to include this.

Nice updation, Alyosha! I also intend to update some of Dega movies! ;) I'm not familiar with this game and I never watched the published run. Someone encode? EDIT: Obsoleting dega movies quest deserves a topic.

Because of very slower controls, on 0:52, I pressed right up against the wall to faster turnaround. Otherwise, requires much more time to this. On 0:54, I tested jumping to fall faster, but unfortunately, Sonic lands some frames later. And on 1:02, I jumped because when reaches the wall, you can turnaround faster rather than only spindashing to fall [Sonic 'walking' on air (0:55), with slower turnaround speed].

WIP 2: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/39790075771465581 Encode: Link to video Red Volcano Zone finished. More difficulty starts here. Several turnarounds on act 2 and 3, since the gameplay is horrible. 3 rings is necessary to take damage at the same time which Robotnik is hit and enough time to recover 2 rings and 1 ring, respectively.

I'm little disappointed that run was done on Mupen64 instead of BizHawk, but this RUN is AWESOME! Liked that new improvements and the new skips, as well as wrong warps and a 'Swordless Child Link'! This run is very very surprising. Yes vote! Entertaining/Tech Quality: 10 (Not including cutscenes).

Thanks for commentaries, guys. Also, any% run WIP: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/39726345738583809 Encode: Link to video It also completes Yellow Desert Zone. Really with any% run, it avoids a lot of time on the special stages. More than 1 minute is enough to complete approximately half all of the zones.
Kurabupengin wrote:
I agree you should switch to any% mainly because it's more entertaining and I don't have to work on it anymore since you always do much more polished runs :-P
We started this game on the same day heheheh :p and I didn't knew about this until I post the 100% WIP.
