I like to think of tool-assisted speedrunners as speedrunners capable of time travel.

Since this game has had some serious desync problems for us in the past, I'm not surprised. Flagitious said he wanted to wait for a new version of snes9x that might fix these problems. But for now, I'm not sure what you can do about it. On another note, I really think we should get this topic going again or are you all just waiting for TSA's next run? SMW shouldn't get all the attention!

the only run I have recorded was my last attempt. In that run, I do the first three worlds nearly perfect until I get hit by the frustrating temple tempest glitch which sends me back to Jungle Hijinx.

there was one in the works, but constant dysync problems prevented it from being completed.

there is no way to really prove that a game is more entertaining than another, since entertainment is a subjective and individual experience. Not every game will be liked by the same group of people, so it is a mistake to assume that one game is more entertaining than another simply because a large group of people say so.

Variety is the key to making a game like this entertaining. I think this was talked about before in another thread, but if MK II is done, then do a Shang Tsung run. Doesn't necessarily have to be aiming for pure speed; morphing into different characters and showing a variety of combos and fatalities\friendships\babalities on very hard would be nice, maybe even beating someone like Smoke in the process.

Send the CD to blizzard and they will send you a new CD key
not good enough. You need to send in either the Cd Case (which he doesn't have) or the manual (which could have been lost with the case). You will also need to pay $10 US to cover shipping charges.

I'm seeing two logos now, one on the far right as well, it makes it hard to see the "...game movie sites such as Bisqwit's and Arc's" part of the text. EDIT: it magically disappeared.

A locked debate now it seems. Being a moderator do you think a separate topic with a poll should be created to finally resolve the issue, or at least come to a conclusion that satisfies (almost) everyone? I'm sure the question of what defines a "complete run" is bound to come up again.

Sim City is one of most anticipated. It'll be an important run because it will help us determine whether runs of simulation games can be entertaining, and can further set the stage for future runs of this type.

I would much rather see a run that goes through the game once and uses a variety of weapons; even though they might not be the best weapons to use it might make it more interesting. I don't understand why people want to see a full run of this game; the final boss battle isn't particularly entertaining nor is having to sit through the game a second time to see it. And yes, play it on the (U) version.

ok, easy now. This is perhaps one of those runs where it's most entertaining if you are a fan of the game. A Sim City run would fail to get published if most people were unfamiliar with it, yet there is a lot of anticipation for one. Give this a chance, it seems to be doing well by the numbers, so there may be some fans out there who would enjoy it.

Most search engines place little or no importance on meta tags when ranking pages. However, the main point is that nintendo assumed the site contained pornographic content merely because of its name, which is similar to the case in this topic.

I remember an incident where nintendo caused a site to get shut down because the word "pokemon" was in the META TAG. Meta tags, of course, are completely hidden in the html. :|

But the thing here is, you can tell me what's wrong with my video without acting like a superior to me.
Effort doesn't equal good results, effort is corrleated with good results. That means the harder you work on a run the greater the chance that you will produce something entertaining, but it is never guaranteed that you will succeed in doing so. It's important then, to take what is told to you here as objective feedback, and not as a direct attack aimed toward your work. This criticism will pay off in your future runs, and you'll be even more pleased with the results. :)

Millions of competitive gamers and only a handful of tool-assisted run makers at a forum called Nesvideos. Do we really have the power to destroy competitive gaming forever? I think not. TG's representation of the entire competitive gaming community is grossly overestimated.

is wadauthor better?
the best one I believe is Doom Builder; even has a 3D mode where you can edit the level as if you were actually there in the game.
