About the series
Dance Dance Revolution, abbreviated DDR, and previously known as Dancing Stage in Europe and Australasia, is a music video game series produced by Konami. Introduced in Japan in 1998 as part of the Bemani series, and released in North America and Europe in 1999, Dance Dance Revolution is the pioneering series of the rhythm and dance genre in video games. Players stand on a "dance platform" or stage and hit colored arrows laid out in a cross with their feet to musical and visual cues. Players are judged by how well they time their dance to the patterns presented to them and are allowed to choose more music to play to if they receive a passing score.
Dance Dance Revolution has been given much critical acclaim for its originality and stamina in the video game market. There have been dozens of arcade-based releases across several countries and hundreds of home video game console releases. The series has promoted a music library of original songs produced by Konami's in-house artists and an eclectic set of licensed music from many different genres. The series has also inspired many clones of its gameplay and a global fan base of millions that have created simulators of the game to which they contribute original music and "simfiles", collections of dance patterns to a specific song. DDR is generally considered the first "machine dance" game, followed by games such as Pump It Up by Andamiro and In the Groove by Roxor. DDR celebrated its 10th anniversary on November 21, 2008.
About the game
Dance Dance Revolution 5thMIX, or DDR 5th Mix, is the 5th game in the Dance Dance Revolution series of music video games. It was released to the arcades by Konami on March 27, 2001. Although only officially released in Japan, units exist worldwide. DDR 5th Mix contains a total of 122 songs, nine of which are hidden and unlockable. Of those songs, 40 of them (including all nine unlockable songs) are brand new to Dance Dance Revolution.
The home version of DDR 5th Mix was released in Japan on September 22, 2001, for the Sony PlayStation video game console. It contains 47 songs, 9 unlockables, plus seven extra hidden songs that appear as a preview to the next arcade version, DDRMAX, for a total of 16 unlockable songs. The mix also contained song edits contributed by players.
About the TAS
I play three of the hardest songs in the game. I hit all of the arrows perfectly and I always get AAA grades. In other words, I win, I pwn and I own.
Stage-by-stage summary
Stage 1 - Can't Stop Fallin' In Love (Speed Mix)
TASing this song was boring as hell, since there are a lot of arrows.
Stage 2 - Afronova Primeval
MMmmmmmmm.... still boring to TAS.
Stage 3 - Paranoia Eternal
I thought it would be the most complex tune in this game, but it's not! WTF!? It's waaaaaaay harder in DDR Extreme! I mean, it's the most badass tune in the three I picked, and it's stupidly easy (for experts, of course, lol).
Again, this was boring to TAS.
END OF TAS
So yeah, that's pretty much about it.
Why will this TAS be accepted?
There are numerous reasons why this run should ABSOLUTELY be accepted.
- Everybody loves DDR.
- I played perfectly.
- The three songs I picked are cool.
- Nostalgia factor.
- I picked a GOOD DDR game, not one of these bad games Konami are making since Extreme 2/Strike.
- The announcer says "WOW! RAPE!" a couple times.
- The dancer I picked has an afro, and you know that an afro is a symbol of superiority.
- Because DarkKobold will judge it (?), and he's awesome.
- Because it's definately NOT an April Fool's joke.
- Because I'm Mister Epic. And Epic = Epic Win.
So yeah, this submission must absolutely be accepted. If you don't accept it, the end of the world will happen in 2012.
Enjoy!

DarkKobold: I'm seriously considering accepting this. However, I can't do so until you explain why you didn't use this trick, GabCM.
