Do not worry, I am not about to submit a bunch of DK ports like someone did awhile ago, this is the only one.
This was one of Ocean Software's DK ripoffs, possibly before they decided to make an official port, which arguably is either worse or better depending on what you compare it too.
The only real things I can mention here is jumping is faster if you jump on frames that will propel the player forward a bit, hit detection is very weird too, if you jump over an enemy you can still get hit by it once you land, but if you jump as soon as you land you can completely avoid it.
also the items weirdly enough can also hurt you for some reason, I am not sure why this is tbh.
and the 3rd level has a interesting glitch where if I land on the downward moving platform right as it appears, I can stand there and not move at all, this is what makes me able to jump to the end of the stage. normally if you're in that area, a kill box will kill you, but I manage to jump into it before that happens.
