Cutthroat Island is a movie based side-scrolling action game released in 1995 by Acclaim Entertainment. The game features two playable characters (Morgan Adams and William Shaw) and two different fighting modes (Swordplay and Brawling). There are versions for Game Boy, Game Gear, Genesis, and SNES.
In this run i use William Shaw in Swordplay mode to finish the game as soon as possible.
There are 5 hidden treasure chests in game. Collecting them you will get extra ending screens. I missed them to beat the game faster, so if it is needed, add "any%" branch.
Level 1 - His Majesty's Prison
- Beat up pirates and boss - Warden
Level 2 - Quarry
- Autoscrolling level. Just dodge obstacles and if possible enemies too
Level 3 - Spittalfield
- There are two bosses here - Snelgrave and Mordechai Adams. Also i shot the final boss (Dawg Brown) but he kept talking. At least his appearance not spoiled.
Level 4 - Carriage Chase
- Autoscrolling level. Just beat the last enemy fast.
Level 5 - Harbour
- Only one midboss here - Harbormaster
Level 6 - Mutiny
- Beat'em up level on ship
Level 7 - Jungle
- Mazelike level with monkeys and leopard. No animals were harmed in THIS level.
Level 8 - Cliff
- Platformer level. Using optimal route which skips major part of level.
Level 9 - Treasure Chamber
- Platformer level separated to sublevels. Using optimal route which skips major part of level.
Level 10 - Cliff
- Second time on another cliff. Skips major part of level using near-death jumps. The last jump would kill player if this was not the end of level.
Level 11 - Cove
- Fight with Boss - Governor Patrick Ainslee and his leopard pet
Level 12 - Sea Battle
- Beat up pirates and boss - Dawg Brown
nymx: Claiming for judging.
nymx: I don't see anything here that stands out as a problem. Because of my unfamiliarity and no audience feedback, I checked against the human WR and you did a great job beating it by roughly 5 minutes.
