Mario Forever I believe, every Mario fan must have atleast heard of this game. This is a port of the Mario Forever (4.0) to the SNES. It's not totally same but you can't differentiate that much. In this movie, I attempted to complete the Human Laboratory World, a hidden sub-area.

Comments

This game is a ROM Hack of Super Mario World but the RAM is very different from it. Some features of Mario Forever were not included such as the Warp at the end of 3rd level of HLW and the funny voices of the enemies in same.
To reach HLW, we have to find its secret entrance in the Main Hub-World and then it starts. There are a total of 5 levels which are also mandatory for its completion.

Mechanics

I don't have any practice on SMW TASing but I'm comfortable with this game now... You have SpeedCaps at 37 and 49. 49 speedcap is the max so I reach it and then leave R and jump to maintain it. I went for Lui power which is it's unique feature. It gives you extra height while jumping and you can hold A while falling to decrease the falling speed. The major drawback of this PowerUp is that it makes some appreciable amount of lag. The X-Speed keeps varying every frame and just like the P-Speed, we unlock the under 50 pace by getting to 38 speed by running for couple of seconds. here is the RAM Watch.

Stage by stage comments

1st Stage

Just a quick pass through for a simple level. Most of the time, I was in air to prevent slowing down. The big wall was a problem but I figured it out.

2nd Stage

This level is full of enemies. You get introduced to that Keyboard guy in this level which is like a koopa. The hammer bro pattern is complex. At a place, I changed his spawning position by just one frame of A input.

3rd Stage

This was a bit difficult compared to others. It has stops, turns and trails of some armoured Goomba like clones which gave me some lag.

4th Stage

It was brutal. The most haunting part of this TAS is a mixture of majorly Vertical and at many places, a Horizontal Scroller. It was the most difficult part because it had many enemies and many lag frames due to the traces of Lui PowerUp. There's a spot at which even passing through the enemy is very difficult and then cutting time is a different story. I tried my best to fall down or accelerate in the Left/Right directions as quickly as possible to save time. If anyone makes any improvements, it would be this level for sure and surely from lag reduction.

5th Stage

This was the easiest thing in the whole TAS. Just run through the mansion which looks like this...

Other comments

It was a good time for me TASing this. If somebody finds any improvements then I'm ready for the co-authorship. If this movie gets Accepted, I would like frame 2096 (00:34.88) as the Thumbnail.

nymx: Claiming for judging.

nymx: I had a bit of trouble understanding the goal of this TAS, in terms of our rules. So here is the deal....all my research seems to show that this is a well known category of running. Since I can't find anything else about this game, the inclusion of other parts will certainly obsolete this one...as they are still contained all-in-one.
