About the Game

Steamed Hams is a 2018 homebrew text adventure for the ZX Spectrum, written by John Connolly of PROSM Software. It follows the script of the titular animation from 22 Short Films About Springfield, a 1996 episode of The Simpsons.

About the TAS

This TAS aims to get the good ending as fast as possible.

Gameplay

The first 2 minutes consists of simply loading the tape. Loading finishes on frame 6493 (~2:10).
As for the game itself, there's no way to speed up the dialogue. We just have to wait until the choices show up. Here are the four choices we make to get to the good ending:
SO, THE BIG CHEESE HAS CAUGHT SEYMOUR, BUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? THAT'S UP TO YOU...
1: SEYMOUR TELLS THE TRUTH.
2: HE'S STRETCHING HIS CALVES!
UH-OH, CHALMERS HAS FOUND A HOLE IN YOUR STORY. HOW WILL YOU RETCON THIS?
1: HE SAID 'STEAMED HAMS'!
2: HE HAD TO CHANGE HIS PLANS.
THIS GETS WORSE AND WORSE! NOW THE SUPERINTENDENT'S SUSPICIOUS. WHAT SHOULD SKINNER DO?
1: ADMIT THAT THEY ARE KRUSTY BURGERS.
2: TELL HIM IT'S A FAMILY RECIPE.
THE GAME'S UP. HOW WILL SKINNER EXPLAIN THE FIRE?
1: GO IN AND INVESTIGATE THE FIRE.
2: IT'S THE NORTHERN LIGHTS.
Input ends on frame 23148 when we make the final choice.
That's all from me. Thanks for reading.

nymx: Claiming for judging.
nymx: Well...this was weird. This game kinda reminds me of those books that were sold in the 80's, where you choose your own direction for variations in the story line. I can't argue with anything here, since I've cross-examined it with a speedrun. There is not much difference, but this TAS beat out the human effort.
Accepting.
fsvgm777: Processing.
