I didn't previously know much about Dragon Ball Z. Now, after watching this run, I somehow feel like I know even less. Liked the unintuitive looking stutter-flying and the death warp, and the game itself was moderately pleasing to the senses... although the music seemed comically out of place during the epic battles, but maybe that's just me. Anyhow, I mostly liked the run, so it gets a dispassionate 'yes' vote from me.

This version of Ninja Gaiden lacks some of the kinetic energy and charisma of the originals, but the high jumps do look neat. It's a solid and surprisingly brief run, so I'll give it a yes vote.

Looks like a great game choice with the elaborate movement and weird set pieces and enemies that tell a story of their own. Can't wait to re-watch this in better quality later. Yes vote.

The game has some pretty cool rhythms going on, a bit like a deranged IDM-song. The run was short and meticulous, so I'll give it a late yes vote.

First 15-20 minutes are awesome, but then it all sort of becomes a blur of over-the-top skating action and random vehicle sections. Giving a weak yes vote.

Good game choice. The faster parts with the spinning and extreme speeds really do seem Sonic-esque. Voted yes.

I didn't even remember there was an Arcade-version of this game. It was a nice, quick watch (with surprisingly good music too). I'll give it a yes.

I disagree with a certain important presupposition in the first post. As far as I'm concerned, menus *are* a part of gameplay and the game's interactivity in general, and things like menu glitches or save / load glitches should be okay to use. Rather... to me it's things like changing .ini settings in PC games to do things not normally allowed by the game that are starting to be the gray area of what's "acceptable" and what's not. But even then, it's best to not be too dogmatic about all this. People run for fun, and sometimes the rules are best decided on a game-to-game / category / community basis.

While not the most entertaining genre around, it's still cool to see puzzle TASes every once in a while. Guess it gets a 'meh' vote from me.

Pretty nice, fast-paced isometric action. Hmm, I think I once tried one of these Bionicle-games on GBA, not sure if it was this one... Anyway, voted yes.

It's a pretty nice "category" of Mega Man 2 that shows more of the game than usual, and the instant weapon switching is cool. Clever tactics with the various Items too. I was at least moderately entertained by the run, so I'll give it a yes vote.

Someone ought to tell Batman that prancing does not strike fear into the hearts of criminals. The run was overall worth watching at least once, with the neat expressive graphics, silly jumping action and the fourth wall breaking ending (still better than Batman: Arkham Knight's story >_>)... so I'll give it a strong 'meh'.

Nice to see this piece of "video gaming history" get a more optimized TAS. The stair glitch tactic truly demonstrates the split personality of Jekyll's character. Since I'm unintentionally amused every time I see this game, and the new tactics are pretty awesome, I didn't find watching the run too arduous. It shall receive a 'meh' vote from me. But yeah...

Never really watched Winx Club, but I'm still a fan (thanks to the hilariously broken Winx Club-games). I don't know much about the series past the first season, but it's a darn shame if they don't use the original theme song any more...

Liu Kang saves the day by riding an air bicycle and making funny noises. Kudos for the improvement, and I vote "meh" for entertainment (solely because of the funny noises).

My reasoning for an any/100 tier is simply this: TASVideos says one of its goals is "being a TAS records site, and a central repository of tool-assisted literature and information" (pasted from the Vault description). The thought of a TAS records site is a great one in my opinion. Creating Vault for movies that were rejected in the past for entertainment reasons was a great step for the site. But TASVideos is still far from being a formal records site. I guess the lack of formality is the thing that bothers me the most here. Rant incoming... The way I see it, speed is a fairly objective goal. As far as I'm concerned, it should be the foundation in a "tier system" (or another type of organizing). But... TASVideos has always been founded on a (narrow-minded) focus on entertainment. TASVideos suffered for it in the past before there was a Vault, when plenty of good runs were rejected because they weren't "entertaining enough". And even now, runs that are perceived to be not that entertaining are hidden away and more or less discouraged by the site. Heck, the Vault description itself says "Movies which are not all that entertaining are included here". Is it just me, or is this a somewhat disrespectful attitude towards the work? The thing is, entertainment is highly subjective. You cannot claim that this bunch of runs is entertaining and these other runs are not, and draw a clear line between them. It all comes down to user preferences, age, past gaming experience and all that. For instance hiding away Vault runs in the search is doing a disservice to the end user, who might in fact be most interested in one of the runs that ended up in the Vault, and now never ends up finding it. To get out of the arbitrary trappings of "entertainment", have an objective tier for speed records. Something you can create statistics of and simply keep track of. Then, another tier(s) for alternative categories ("Moons")... As for pinpointing runs that are likely the most accessible and of critical worth to new users, there is the tag for that. Mumble mumble... But after that... all this ruminating on what is "entertaining" and what is not... is it really necessary? Can't the user decide for themselves what they want to watch once they get the basics and are starting to grasp the limitless possibilities of this fringe art form? Obviously some kind of guides can be useful, but separating all the runs on the site on a single interpretation of "entertaining" doesn't help much IMO. I'm kind of sorry to hear that this whole idea is a no-go. About the site resource drain... can't the displayed results be divided into pages that show 50 first runs, for instance?

Thanks for starting an interesting topic, Moozooh. When I've tried to introduce TASes to someone who doesn't know about them, I've usually shown the SM64 0 stars run, Brain Age, Family Feud or some Mortal Kombat-playaround. These runs have elicited laughter from the viewers, so that should be a good sign. I agree that a newcomer TAS should not require prior knowledge of TASes or even the presented games, and that the length of the TAS does matter. Not being a Nintendo-fan, I find watching longer runs of classic Nintendo-games like Majora's Mask or Yoshi's Island 100% slightly unbearable even though I understand TASes and can appreciate the technical value of these runs. I imagine it would be even worse for a newcomer trying to dig into these runs.

Alright. This is the first time I saw this game. Seems like a Legend of Zelda-type of adventure, except you're a valkyrie. It's a quaint run where you mostly walk in a solitary area and sometimes bypass some enemies. It wasn't the most entertaining thing ever, but completely watchable. Had a nice atmosphere to it, I guess. Doing the glitched wharf is a big sequence break, isn't it? That looked pretty interesting. It seems to be a good TAS. As for the poll question, my perceived entertainment value here was a little vague, and so I'll give the run a 'meh' vote.

I feel sorry for Yoshimitsu now. His stomach must hurt after all these self-perforations. Eh, this is probably as entertaining as a fighting game speed TAS can get, so I'll give it a 'yes' vote. A slightly mild one, but still.

Nice game. Hadn't seen it before, but this run seems to make short work of it. The glitches are tremendous. Yes vote.

This is obviously quite a complex game, so good job breaking it as well as you've done here. The run is kind of long for what it is, though, and gets samey quick. I won't vote yet since I haven't finished watching, but based on the first 25 minutes I heavily suspect you will get a 'meh' vote from me. This is impressive but drawn out stuff.

This game doesn't have a jump button, does it? Because this TAS makes it look like it does. A stylish run, yes vote.

Nice glitches and fast navigation. It's a short, fun TAS, so here's a yes vote.

Those glasses are like something straight out of a cosmic horror story. Sure, the run is short and glitchy, so a yes vote.
