I just want to drop a message to say I appreciated this run. I used to play this game as a child and always wanted to see the absolute limit this game could be pushed to especially due to serious playability limitations (i.e. no hard drop, T-Spins, etc). By the time you get to Line 300, the pieces are virtually uncontrollable, so I enjoyed very much seeing a 700 line run. If you ask me, seeing a Tetris run that is glitched, or just spits out straight line pieces one after the other is equally if not more boring than a standard run. We could at least have a Glitchless / No Piece Manipulation category or something like that. Maybe I'm just old fashioned. That being said, there are strict standards here and it's a good idea to meet them wherever possible. It's what makes the movies here such high quality. So next time; Start at level 9 Stop once you reach your goal Aim for tetrises wherever possible (I understand without piece manipulation it may not always be possible to get consecutive tetrises though).

Looks like everything worked. Havent watched all of it but it made it through to the ending. hopefully youtube doesnt mess it up.
Excellent! Can't see the vid yet as its still processing on YT's end. I was able to complete another one without crashing but a) the only format that seems to work for me is MKV, which sites like YouTube won't accept and b) I don't really have much software in the way of converters. Additionally, the moving pictures on the beach screwed up for me via glide. So I guess I would have to recap that section, but I know for a fact the Jabo one doesn't work any better on that section..so not really sure what the dealio is.

So I'm trying to get one done seeing as how I have some free time today. Maybe I'm just being n00bish here, but I change the Plugin to Glide64mk2 and when I run the game w/o the inputs, the jiggy transitions work, but when I play back the movie and record, the jiggy transitions screw up again? Is there something in the input file which forces the Jabo plugin to be used? Also, I checked the Jabo settings and 'Copy FrameBuffer to RDRAM' is already enabled, so.. any thoughts? I'll keep at it in the mean time Edit: So I think I found the Plugin setting in the BK2 Archive, is in the JSON data, I've set it to Glide64mk2 now. Now the trick is getting it to record e2e. Even with a high-spec desktop, I'm getting a lot of freezes and crashes. Will report more later.

The run was insanely faster than Samis. Even in reading the submission text you can guage the level of technical effort and optimisation that went into it. Only one way to vote!

Interesting. Realistically though, you would only need to redo the section that involves you plugging the Clankers jigsaw no? As its a 100% run I cant imagine any improvements that could be made other than skipping the puzzle fill to unlock the grate. Is there no way to just edit the inputs between leaving TTC and then resume the old inputs once you enter Clankers? (Assuming the glitch can be made to work that is). -Airman

Great run! Quick query, I know you said you're not aiming to make it perfect, but in the maze section I noticed you let the Wading Boots time out, which causes a slight delay in movement. Does cancelling it with the B button before they expire make it shorter or are the frames equal?

Hey HyperResonance, Good effort so far, really impressed at the improvements from Sami's original run. Quick question - with Jiggy 7 on TTC inside Nippers shell, was it not possible to get hit by the crabs into the Jiggy and saving the Jiggy dance? Looks like it could save a few seconds if it's possible. - Airman

Yeah, wrong section, but just from my own personal experience I know how annoying it was trying to find out what played the N64 movie files. Anyway, you need Mupen V8 WITH re-recording. It's not too hard to find just do a google search. I'm not sure if this site hosts it or not. Once it is installed open the ROM of the game, go to the Utilities Toolbar - > Movie - > Start Movie Play Back. Or you could alternatively press Ctrl+Shift+P Then select the file.

It was necessary to ground pound on the first bench to avoid taking damage from the ghost. I'm not sure about the second bench though. Did he do a ground pound there? By the way, Sami; How is Click Clock Wood coming along? :)

Oh my bad, Sami said the time would be just under 2 hours I assume he meant game timer because counting cutscenes its impossible to get under two hours now. Still awesome time for banjo Kazooie 100%, though. Nice job! :)

Sub 2 hour run will most definitely be possible. SM: 2:01 GL: 16.00** MM: 5.08 TTC: 7.01 CC: 8.45 BGS: 12.23 FEP: 12.04 GV: 10.03 MMM: 9.22 RBB: 9.14 Giving a total time of; 1.30.04 CCW will Probably get down to 20 minutes So in total 1.50.04 Marsh's times from exitting CCW to defeating the witch is 12.02 So with Marsh's times as a base it would be 2.02.06 But I'm sure marsh's time can get 2 minutes shaved off of it. **I haven't actually checked this on Mupen but he spends about 2 minutes in the lair after exitting RBB and entering CCW

Aghh I didn't watch the Half quality version til it uploaded. Am sorry for the tears and rips and stuff but if I get time to upload the full quality version I will post another link. :) I agree with Kowz. Looking forward to the last two levels. Especially Click Clock Wood because this level requires some high precision movements which can be done effortlessly with TAS. Maybe a 20 minute or less time? Maybe a sub 2 hour time overall if things go right I think. The time as of exiting freezeezy Peak was; GL: 14.04 MM: 5.08 TTC: 7.01 CC: 8.45 BGS: 12.23 FEP: 12.04 GV: 10.03 MMM: 9.22 Giving a total time of; 1.18.50 Meaning to get a sub 2 hour run the final tasks (RBB, CCW, Final GL jiggies, Quiz, Grunty must be done within 41 minutes and 9 seconds. The non-TAS records (to my knowledge) for RBB and CCW are 13:20 and 22:30 respectively. Totalling 35.50 allowing for 6.41 to collect final jiggies plus quiz and grunty. Who knows? Anythings possible with TAS.

Hey, don't blame me :P Blame my internet which seems to have slowed immensly. I tried again at half size and it stops at 8MB. I'll keep trying but it's unlikely it will upload. Sigh.

The file is refusing to upload. It stops around half way through and won't move any farther. I think we have to wait for bkDJ :( Edit: I'll try again but make the filesize half and see if that works.

No problems. Unfortunately, I won't be on my computer when the upload finishes either. By the time it finishes I probably wont be back on for at least 7-8 hours. However if you guys want to watch it, I'm uploading it to Megaupload. As far as I'm aware you can run a google search; "megaupload *filename*" and it will still allow you to download it. The file name is; "Sami's BK TAS Run (WIP) Part 9 [WMV].wmv" It should be available in an hour and a half.

Apologies for the slight delay, everyone. The video is uploading now. The dimensions are 640x480 with the original MP4-AVI codec converted directly into a WMV using Windows Movie Maker for convenience for everyone. The file size is approximately 90MB. I will post a link for the download in several hours time.
