Ah cool, so it's possible to exit the tooth with a backflip/beak buster? So I'm guessing no learning wonderwing move for any%? Oh I see, the planning sounds pretty difficult. Keep up the good work.

Seems to be exclusive to Mumbo's Mountain. If you die, then when you respawn at the start pad, Bottles has text saying that the notes you collect (regardless of how many you collect) count as saved and you have to skip and then jump (you can't move while he's talking). Just a heads up, though probably already found. Probably still faster than speedrun route. Also, in TTC, is it faster to collect the blubber jiggy during the blubber cutscene, or through flying as done in the previous TAS? So I'm guessing the Banjo CC route is planned out. I was wondering if it involved jumping from the pipe thing above the mutie-snippets (or vice versa) to where the honeycomb grating is. Idea I have: -Same beginning, go straight to mutie-snippets first (collecting underwater pipe notes) -Then gloop and follow speed run until tooth. -Poop eggs to tooth (if cycle is correct), get bolt jiggy -get across clanker, get jiggy near mutie-snippets, -traverse pipe, do the jump thing I mentioned, hope the cycle completes to get in blowhole (or get tooth jiggy, exit) -Get blade jiggy. -Get notes on sides of clanker underwater, drown deathwarp. The last part wastes time, so I'm not sure how to work out a deathwarp, and didn't really count up notes. Also, anyone try getting on top of clanker from "converging" part of the tail? IDK if that would help with anything. Possible route incorporation for CC? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieYgEE5_tnU

Hm. The any% route has the bee going to Gobi's Valley, correct? This idea requires entering gobi's valley and exiting as banjo instead of bee (to "activate" monsters). I was thinking maybe using a mum-mum and doing backflip near the statue thing (something like for the cactus empty honeycomb in the speed runs). I'm not sure if that gains height though. Possibly, the other thing to try is the attack (like claw swipe or roll), then jump on to the mum-mum, and do the "invincible" bounce back. Or if it is possible to get on top of the vase without the jump pad to do a talon trot jump to the statue? (Though seems like a very difficult jump). Or if there's a ledge thing, use the boots to gain height? (Though I think you skip learning the boots in any%, and I don't see any nearby ledges)

Didn't think of death warp or two damage cancels. That sounds like a very good route. Nice job. Well, I hope it will work out and stuff.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ep9rTbdiGNA I'm not sure how much progress there is in MM, but I think this route may be a couple seconds faster, (getting blue jinjo last and jiggy in water), especially if there is some way to manipulate the bad guy for the hut jiggy (which was very lucky on my part). It would be optimal to get the hut jiggy last to skip the longer jiggy animation thing. Notes (tried to get a video demonstration, but the video came out messed up): -Getting about 5-10 extra seconds on this route (After termite hill, get the rest of the ring of notes, juju, hut jiggy, mumbo jiggy, mumbo notes exit) -I was doing better without the double jiggy (route in video above), but double jiggy is probably OK for tas. Alternate Route: -Break 4 huts -Go to talon trot area instead of termite hill. -Do conga area (the double jiggy thing works...so far it seems like I need at least 56 notes to get it to do right (so collect 1-2 notes from the "5 note" hut ring that you break) -Get the blue jinjo with water trick -Go to green hill thing, but then go to termite hill instead. -get juju/mumbo jiggy, then hut jiggy in some order that is optimal. -Exit Also, in TTC, has anyone tried to clip through the wall/grating inside the boat where the treasures are?

Ooh nice job. Too bad it can't be used, unless there's another way to trigger it.

The angle the Conga jiggy bounces is random, but set in stone once the level is loaded, so getting the two to overlap involves luck (manipulation) before entering.
Sorry, I don't know how to link directly to posts. But bkDJ probably knows more about this than I do. But I think it depends how how you enter mumbo's mountain. In real time, I've only been able to get it happen once, but I don't recall what I did.

http://i.imgur.com/t4zOs.jpg?1 It's kind of late to throw this idea out there, but I was wondering if you could clip through mumbo's mountain entrance through this crack in the door (or is it just a graphical "illusion" thingy?). Keep it up with the progress. I'm enjoying all these new glitches and stuff. Glad to see the route planning is mostly complete.

I tried the levitating cheat plus the peck attack but couldn't get it...either doesn't work or frame perfect or something. That looks like a good outline for collecting notes. So it looks like mainly CCW note amount is variable atm? I'm surprised at how quickly that many notes can be collected for BGS and GV...Do you happen to know the times for CC and RBB (if those are not "only bee" times?)

Oh, I see. Ha, never realized the difference.

Oh damn, true. So this run will require 45 mumbo tokens? That's a lot. Let's see, MM has 5 tokens, TTC has 10, BGS has 10, FP has 10, and MMM has 15. That's 50 in all. Minus 5 and you have your requirement. Grunty's Lair has 10 as well, and I doubt that you can get all of FP's mumbo tokens without wasting a lot of time.
Hm yeah, looks doable. There's like 5 tokens in the lair you can get along the route. (CCW puzzle, CCW warp cauldron, Gobi's Valley, FP, MMM puzzle)

Need to have the water raised with pumpkin to do the 640 note skip...so that's one of the issues with the route planning. I'm wondering if the any% should learn all spiral mountain moves (faster), or only some moves (entertaining)...I guess that depends once the route is figured out... I attempted to do the beginning part of the run without dive. MM - All jiggies, 94 notes (in TAS, probably could get 3-6 underwater notes, so 97-100) TTC - 9 jiggies (beak buster for blue jinjo, can't get get the jiggy that's underwater with the bomb thingy, all notes possible (though I only got 96, didn't attempt the one with blubber's treasure). Skipped CC, had 190 notes (probably can get slightly more) BGS - Got 7 jiggies, 72 notes... could get to 260 note door... That's as far as I got...realized needed to get to MMM and get more jiggies...which messed up going directly to CCW after FP to change to bee.

Hm, this means that dive might not really be needed then (from what I gather from RingRush's skip basic moves video). (Ugh, could enter CCW puzzle w/o dive, but couldn't exit...using method to get FP honeycomb) Cool, looking forward to them. :)

Wow, nice job! Those cauldrons are useful haha. So mumbo does not change you back if you try to go to BGS, MMM, (or other places you can transform?) Or is it because you can fly past the "activation" thing for mumbo in BGS? Also, I'm guessing you could only do the above water parts in CC?

I was wondering if someone with more experience TASing would like to give the ice key clip a try, and try applying the same method to a note door (that has some form of a ceiling above it, like the 260 note door, which I've included in the save states. Also, RBB note door save state if anyone wants to try flip and beak buster). http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ahde8o2mirrr82p (I gave them a try, but my lack of skill in TASing made it not possible for me to do) *(forgot to mention...method I was talking about was doing the backflip that is suggested by ign) 810 note door ideas (unlikely, but putting them out there anyway): -Clip through stairs at beginning -Use cauldron activation scene somehow -Wonderwing (based on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SCKE7dRf1o at 2:34, though probably need very narrow space to get into, also unlikely)

Cool, nice find! 50 note door idea: Maybe clip through torch (using beehive) and then jump towards door? 745 note door idea: With bee, tried to clip through corner, but failed: camera did get slightly glitched. Or possibly use the bull near the wall near the hill or leaf to somehow get through the wall? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gA_Gt4329TE

This is so cool! Looking forward to any% run as well. Also, I'm not sure if this was mentioned before, but it wasn't in Sami's run...you can rat-a-tap into dingpot to skip the dialogue "activation". (Eh nevermind, essentially done in Cronikeys' video.) (I'm doing a run right now, so any ideas that come to mind I'll post) CC -With the hoop thing, for the 3rd hoop: is it faster to do a beak buster, swim through the hoop, then feathery flap the the other hoop, or is the current way (swimming) faster? -If the current speed run route is used, is it possible to jump from the pipe thing (the one with clanker screw thing) to the mumbo token on the blue wall? Seems like a stretch, but something to try. Bubblegloop Swamp -Is there a way to manipulate the turtle choir thing? (Like so you only have to hit a nearby turtle as opposed to one across the room...or is it not worth the trouble since they're so close to each other it doesn't really matter) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5fnEgK5eVA (Not Mine) Possibly use this maze skip for the any% FP -Possible to jump on sled to skip boggy dialogue activation? CCW -(Note door from RRB to CCW.) Maybe try to get a flip and beak buster to skip the note door by getting to the opening above the door? (Unsuccessful attempts to bypass: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKNt2GB05c4 ) -Maybe use the fixed camera glitch and bee to possibly clip through note door? (IDK...something to probably play around with...) (Fun fact: Question in quiz show when asking for character's voice. Grunty asks "...who has this cool voice" when the answer is her. So just a tip when speedrunning...probably should post this at sda.)

When I installed mupen 0.5.1, there wasn't any rsp plugin, so I just copied the one from pj64 into the plugin folder. So I am able to load the rom, but how do I go about loading .m64? I don't see an option to "load .m64", only loading roms or loading savestates.

So I'm confused...how do you watch a .m64 file in mupen? What is a .m64 file anyway?

There's something special about egg pooping haha...tested egg pooping in final battle in between cutscenes when jinjos can be activated...no issues with cutscene getting cut off or game lock (unless it is how the game is emulated on PJ64 vs mupen)...banjo can't move until the jinjo hits grunty though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j7ql4e61qs Oh this is for the orange jinjo...so I guess nevermind about the game lock...=\ --- Just a fun (useless?) glitch for entertainment purposes (in final battle, you can move grunty a little during cutscene) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ot-tS0XqF8 As far as I know, it does no damage to her. I've tried the levitating cheat and using wonderwing and you can knock her all the way near the edge of the space and she just floats there. In the final cutscene, the jinjo would take longer to travel the distance to hit her, so the music isn't as seamless. So maybe if this can be used to push her closer, and the cutscene is kept in the tas, then it might shorten it a bit.

Was able to get the totem pole trick I mentioned (better for tas than speed run I think). (Skip to 0:25 if you don't want to watch my attempts haha) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SO6zZZVrat0 Also, I was messing around, and you can get "stuck" in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th totem pole's mouth if you roll into it as the totem pole is dropping. You can poop eggs into it and getting out should be pretty easy with tas. Combining this with the previous trick should make this faster. (*any% can just only utilize this, if going for the totem pole jiggy.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m94HdBtaij8 I remember reading that one way to get the ice key past the wall was to do a backflip. Can this same trick work for the note doors?

If there is another tas of this, I was thinking that in Boulder Canyon, you could use the logs to push you faster. IDK how much time it would save, but it's something to consider.

How much time does the final battle cutscene add to in-game time? I'm wondering, since I made the following video, in which banjo dies as the last jinjo is activated. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZZ3bFbOs-4 (the beak buster/groundpound has no effect on the beach ending cutscene) (Resetting right after activating makes no difference (so resetting is probably faster)...I guess it depends if you want the last cutscenes to play or not) Another thing... Regarding Mumbo's Mountain. I've only had this happen once to me, so I don't know how to trigger it.* I had the two conga jiggies (the orange box things and the one you get from shooting eggs at him) land at the same spot, so I was able to collect both jiggies at once. I think it had something to do with the direction I was standing on the switch things, but I'm not completely sure.) *oh I read earlier in the thread and it looks like it's done by random seed (or whatever...idk the terminology) (And for entertainment purposes (also only happened once). In the final battle, I've only had grunty land short of the ledge platform thing after, what I believe, to be two jinjos hitting grunty nearly simultaneously... Then the camera assumes grunty's on the ledge for the final cutscene...also she falls through the floor.) Another idea for Mumbo's Mountain, for the totem pole. Is it possible to "poop" eggs into the last one so you can get to the honeycomb during the time the eggs are bouncing in (and then you can get the jiggy on the same jump?)
