I had some inconsistent results with braid, but found that desyncs were far more likely to occur if you tried to record video immediately, rather than delaying a few frames and then starting the video recording.

So wouldn't it have been a better idea to have simply made the movie with no memory card present?

Yes, it is done on mania difficulty. I found this to be quite entertaining, and liked the fact that despite the strength difference between characters, Max' score did not horrendously out-do Skate's. Yes vote.

I did manage to get this to completely sync in a vm, however only once. dxdiag of the vm/host. I'll try again at a later point.

I had intended on watching this, but apparantely I don't have whatever version of snes9x you're using. Care to share? I'd suggest using microstorage rather than mediafire for supported formats, as it allows you to provide a bit more information and details what was used to make it.

That was pretty nice, the only downside was that you weren't able to finish it off with a destruction as rune was too low of a level.

So you want to use an emulator glitch to pull off a trick not possible on the original hardware? I'd half wager it would be rejected on that basis, much like the original super mario land 2 glitched tas, regardless of console category.

I'm not calling a full fledged VC emulator, I'm calling a VC emulator that only supports N64 roms, which it seems to do a better job of emulator than it does an N64 because it's a has memory which allows for stick on B like the VC does.
Does a real N64 allow stick on b?

Probably the biggest point of this run being on the japanese version purely to save time on text is that if it's accepted, it opens the gates for all future runs of more or less any game to be run on a japanese rom purely for shorter text. If you were to add an exception to it to publish this specific run, why would people not just ignore that because you published this run anyway, despite it not following that rule?

You're a damn hero, Ilari! Finally bsnes's excellent emulation will be put to good use here!
The only hard part will be convincing people to use it rather than snes9x 1.43.

Atma: Unless I miss my guess, Super Meat Boy is Flash-based, and thus would be problematic to run under Hourglass even if Steam weren't an issue.
http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11329 As I mentioned, a cracked version apparantely works (to a degree, but it works), but a regular version seemingly doesn't. I am curious as to whether or not the steam api screws shit up, as it seems to be the defining point on several games that could make a good tas that otherwise don't work.

Ignoring basically all the comments here, would I be right in an assumption that the likes of super meat boy (and jamestown) won't work for a tas in hourglass at this point due to having the steam api? In the forum thread about it, it is mentioned that a cracked version of the game does indeed work (thusly probably bypassing the steam portion), but doesn't mention what settings were required to get it to run. These are a couple of games that could have some interesting tas potential, but without being able to run in hourglass, we'll never see them.

I certainly liked the strategy used against dark dizzy, made for a lot more contact time. I also vote yes on this, nicely done, but a pity you still couldn't surpass the cannon firing problem.

That was pretty smooth. I think it's the first time that I've seen scrap brain 1 and 2 actually done normally in a tas. That slick move at the start of starlight zone 3 was worth a yes vote in and of itself.

Sonic Generations lags on Chemcial Plant
Sonic Generations lags on chemical plant with a 5870, so think nothing of it. Realistically, hold off on upgrading until the 7xxx series if you can help it, you're more or less wasting time upgrading now. Also, consider running games in windowed mode (for sonic generations you need to use an external program to window it, but it works fairly well) rather than trying fullscreen with maxed or high settings, as you'll get better performance.

Rape is illegal, you know, and that's precisely what you did to this game. Sure as hell worthy of a yes vote.

May I reference MegaManX2? There is a time saving glitch in Crystal Snail's stage that can't be done on emulator because it requires lag frames (which only console produces in that area).
Actually, it can. I've done said glitch in snes9x 1.52, as it is more accurate than 1.43/1.51.

This movie is certainly worthy of a yes vote when a fixed movie file is uploaded (for the end, it appears to end input too soon or something). Can you explain how you managed to skip the mana tree area though? the submission comments don't cover that.
