While testing the pcsx-rr version(pcsx-rr-v012+-fix1.7z), I think that I figure out what was the crash/blackscreen problem with kkapture... just play a bit with the value in "auto-skip" groupbox and then the encoding process should run fine.

Does someone could provide a list about all the level that needed to be manipulated?

Alright, I'm willing to continue my works on this game. Actually, these last thing that I've wroking on was trying to get a successful squirrel unite against lucas blight(third round), but I was keeping failling again and again :/ So far... maybe I'm just unlucky, since the 5 squirrel are very low level, but I can't get it work. (Thought, maybe I didn't test enought either... or this just won't work for this specific battle) Arf! anyway ^_^

i made a TAS earlier where i didn't take all the 108 characters (i just aimed for fastest time: kindness rune, armor shop 999,999 glitch etc), and still he had time to get the 300,000 potch before i had finished the game (i think he had the money when i was about to leave to tinto).?
I'm very sorry for this long reply, but do you still have your .pxm ?!! (if you don't the final time and your comment about it are welcome, thought ) Even if this isn't optimal(thought mine isn't either), this should be a big help. Also, I have a technical question. - I read here, that some konami devlopper are using the remaincing cpu cycle for the random number generator.... - In addition, few investegation(actually I feel like, in this topic... I didn't know what I were talking about) are talking about some "seed system"... since this may explain why you can get "stuck" into a predetermined situation(like your unable to get the an annoying squirrel or a specific drop from monster) I didn't do any memory search or annoying statistic since a long time, so I'm probably inneficient right now, but do you have any idea how to find/use them? Actually, I still have my pxm so I'll try to finish my test-run and then been able to rewrite a decent route with the same objective/challenge, while in same time gather technical information for speedrunning... I'm sure there still some surprises.

Glitchman, did this submission should have more glitch!?? I mean what about editing at least few part by adding some funny trick like this one, etc..? As long as there no desync, there no problem... right?

I have the same feeling as above... your bouncing performance in that ice level was one of the best part. I could provide an encode, but I'm still getting the mysterious crashy black screen with kkapture :/

About the entertaining point, if there no way to make your characther faster... maybe you could add some commentary from lua, with explain where your going and why, description about the plot, technical note and maybe some joke... (actually I feel like few people would read thought your submission text...) Also I was wondering, do you have in straight line everytime? Does moving diagonnaly could create an interesthing dance?? Anyway, you had my vote at your very first submission, so... yes vote

If you do an another run with would be under huh... 6minute?(I don't know if that's still decent) with an new unexpected route, I think that could be nice. About the game, does the sound is really like your encode? Actually if it is, I might prefer Nocturne in the Moonlight since these explosion from blowing up those monster by the beggining are less annoying than SOTN. thought yeah, people there are looking for 100%.....

I don't know, but you can try to understand how work those script.
ram addresses for ff7, such as timer?
post your experiment and ask all your question in the main FF7 thread.. I'm sure that someone will answer you.

try the pec plugin, it work nice... but you need to edith a file to add your own code list(probably in program file/pec) http://pec.duttke.de/download.php for turbo, try this script and edith this line(ex: change the "x" for "r1"):
buttonNames = {"x"} -- here you choose what button you want for turbo

"game B" is harder than the first one... TAS should be alway played at hardest difficulty and I played this game on a 999game in 1 cartridge. You got my vote.

I used this technique for azure dreams encode once and I spended about... more than 4hours of manual editing thought pcsxrr/kkapture and an avisynth editor. I don't know how often this game desynch... but I can't wait for your final encode Aktan! :)

...impressive, yes it was. The enemy manipulation with the 2 bazooka-guys looked somewhat hard, I hope that you used lua-script. Despite this, that's probably the most entertaining Resident Evil video, that I ever see!

I can understand Johanne about how much he love the ArchLinux package manager, because I mostly act the same as him, some year ago.... and even thought I love the archway. Apt-get is good and easy, only thing that I can complain is dependency issue, that seem to be a bit more frequent for a "multimedia-desktop-station", because some unknown raeson and lot of patching. But since there is alway a way to fix the problem, this shouldn't be a problem.....

I have no need for a GUI.
Still, there is shaman for eye candy sake. But it won't beat yaourt, since there is an embeded compilling user-friendly interface for complling the pkgbuild(simple script) from the arch depot... thought your better to look how the script was writed first, if you want to keep a stable system. By the way, ArchLinux isn't the only distro with pacman, Frugalware have it too. If your looking to introduce new people to a good linux distro(I don't say that Ubuntu is bad, but my previous experience would say that it's not "that good" either) you may want to give them something familliar with windows and GUI right at the beginning... People that drop linux very quickly, must time is because something din't work well like huge gnomish bug, loosing his windows partitions, etc..

All that aside, I'm not sure there is a copyright license that fits TASVideos best. So far the closest match seems to be GPL, while some users suggest Creative Commons Attribution + ShareAlike (by-sa) or an even stricter license be used.
Again, this isn't probably the right topic to talk about this, but seriously someone should look around for a real lawer, or we might have to wait years for getting an answer.

Run the game and the script and it should be working. If the images aren't found, it will resort to ghetto mode, where only text is shown. (That's bad.)
Can you give us directly a .zip package with all the dll, gd, and other lua script? Simple input display text works perfectly, thanks!

It also works on PCSX if you use the latest SVN revision (which is not very usable, anyway)
The new ramwatch and ramsearch looks great... and I'm happy to see that the experiment about the sound are still keep going on.

I would rather not complicate things that much. A "TAS OS" would require writing drivers for hardware devices, which is something bad enough that people don't want to do this for popular operating systems.
The purpose would be to run the OS in a Virtual Machine, so we can simply get the current default build and adding the additionnal program for TASing, etc... This might solve comptability problem for particuliar game and at least if someone is looking for playing thought these movie file, they won't have to buy and configure these popular OS. (simply downloading the already all-configured "TAS-OS" should be enought and easier for portability). edith: fixed some non-sense sentence

Sound interesting. But... hmm, does this program could run on ReactOS? If it is, I'm sure that there could be a way to design our own TAS-OS, just like you guys were talking in the previous topic.

Even if this look poorly optimized sometime(the new part is definitly better, thought) I feel like you can do your combo challenge for all the level with this new demonstration, as long as you don't run out of time..!

I can see supporting a play-around for this game that uses 2 players, does all/most of the levels, and focuses on being entertaining w/ big combos
I think that the 2player run, is fun for the first two minute with bubble interact, but it become quicly lame... Also, I'm unsure if you can do some big diamond combo in two player-run. (thought if there a way to create a bubble combo enought big for game beaking this might be interesthing) Here we can heard the "hurry-up!" making everything more exceting as the level keep rolling on.

I vote that this obsolete the published movie.
So, if someone manage to improve the US version, without beating this one... then does is it going right into the gruefood or an another category should be created(althought I remember this similar situation about Chrono Trigger)? Some other game witch specific european glitch might help to save time... but since this one is kinda huge, I think that this submission should be published.

Does kkapture need a specific dll or something as dependence for encoding, actually it does work on few computer and make pcsxrr crash on other one. Also, is there a way to get a sample demo(not from pcsxrr) for kkapture? I tried to google those in the list(with the binairy package), but I have not idea how getting these demo working.
