You're gonna hate me for this, but I just found a way to improve 2-1. Here's what you do: Start by going and pushing the left emerald framer in as usual. Once it's against the wall, pause for 1 frame to make the Alma roll toward you, then grab the lower heart framer and the upper heart framer. Pause for 1 frame again to keep the Alma from coming up to meet you (these pauses could probably be placed earlier if you wanted), run straight to the right, and stop just before you reach the upper heart framer on the right. Go and grab the lower heart framer first to force the Alma to also go around the upper heart framer as you grab it. Then you can grab the top two heart framers and the box as usual. Ta-da! And you took only 2 frames more than a run for a version of the level that didn't have an Alma!

Dang, I forgot to tell you that I saw a way to improve 3-1: Don't push the egg to the right right away. Instead, wait until you've pushed the first block above the Snakey, then shoot it and push it to the right as you're going under the block. I think it would save 31 frames to do it that way. But don't feel bad. My new version of Eggerland has already improved on the old by eight seconds, and I'm only a quarter through the game.

But they all look the same! And they all do the same thing when they touch you!

Are you sure you're not talking about 3-8? Because I had the exact same problem there.

Yeah, I'm sure it is pretty short. Once I saw someone beat it playing normally in the 20 minutes before school started.

Okay, I'm almost there. I think I've found the fastest way through 3-9, so I just have to figure out 3-10 and then I'll show you what I've done.

Would it be possible to append the Tourian part of the run to your new run?

No they're the same because they both wear blue helmets and shoot little pellets at robots.

Sure, but you have to do multiple versions to iron out the mistakes, right?

Yeah! In fact, using a Continue is cheating, because you shouldn't get a second chance; you failed, and your character is DEAD! Now put the game away.

Oh goodie, oh fun. So do you have to knock the Metroids back with your regular beam a lot?

Well, according to Wikipedia, "Members of the Nation of Islam change their surnames to 'X' to symbolize that their African names were lost in slavery, an example is Malcolm X." So the Mega Man X series is really about Rainbow Senshi Miracle Kid's conversion to Islam. Except I'm going to start calling it Megger Man because it rhymes with Egger Land, which rhymes with Kegger Band. Hooray for Megger Man! (Kilor Man, Hector Man, and Dekar Man are not as good)

Well, since the other videos don't use Up+A, maybe this video should use Up+A--to mix it up a little, as well as to speed up what looks to be a long trek.

Well, I'm trying to work out the discrepancy between where you enter a level and where you exit it. You see, Lolo always ends up below the level and a little right of center when he exits. So we could try to see which order has him getting "boosted" more toward where he's going next more of the time. 24 possible paths... Eugh...

I think you need the Ice Beam to freeze an enemy so you can skip across with only one boss defeated.

You could try that "change 768x720 to 1x" thing I mentioned in another topic.

I was just about to make this topic, but I wanted to wait until I had the first 20 rooms done. :b I've got the first 18 or 19 done, so I'll try to finish up Level 3 sometime this week and post what I've done. Then I've got to choose the order for Levels 4 through 7. I'm thinking either 5-4-6-7 or 6-7-5-4. What do you think?

The dragon's good for the floaty jump. I don't think the author of the speed run ever used the dragon's charge-up blast, so either the author didn't know about it or it isn't useful. Oh and don't forget the rock man can punch in different directions.

Oh, yeah, I have the Little Samson movie from speedruns.org on my other computer. (I didn't even know the site was down until you mentioned it. I hadn't checked it in quite a while.) I'm going home this weekend, so I might be able to find some way to send it to you. It's pretty good, but maybe you'll be able to improve on it!

Cool. I've also seen a game where you play as FireMan, and another where you play as a Hard Hat Metool Metall. I remember whoever made the Hard Hat Metool Metall game also made a game where you play as MetalMan, but it wasn't very good. Oh, and there a game where you have to shoot Bass up into the air and keep him bouncing around as long as possible, or something like that. It might have been on the same site as the FireMan game.

Wait, what, so how many speed settings do you get in FCEU? Famtasia gives you 999.
